I am probably going to get slated for buying this, but here goes.

I just bought this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=330233396106&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=014

I want to see if it will make much difference and i know that i will get the usual comments;) but after spending so much time fitting leds into any orifice available :x: ( on the car that is) i fancied a bit of fun.

Now in all seriousness if it may not be suitable ie: fook up the engine, which after reading up about it, shouldnt do then i can always flog it to a chav saxo driver for twice the price :D

What do you think? (holds breath)

2 PSI? *whistles*, you will probably want to secure all loose articles and keep all limbs inside the vehicle until it has come to a complete stop...which shouldn't take long! Cos this will suck more than it blows ah lol, see what I did there? >_

It would be interesting to see how much more it restricts the air flow... tiny electric motor with blades in the way of the inlet... I love the way theyve made it look like a turbo as well! haha

Actually, having had a think about it i bet it would make quite a bit of difference to smaller non turbo diesels (Puggy partner 1.9d anyone?, or Shitron Paxo 1.5d i wouldnt be suprised if it helps quite alot on those non turbo diesels!)

I saw it pictured on a 3.1 engine in the add, and the whole unit is twice the size of the other one available for £140, i just think it will be interesting to see if it makes any difference, if not then didnt cost much to find out.

If your car is a twin turbo then say bye bye to your engine.

It WILL restrict the air flow and most likely cause detonation and you can kiss goodbye to your pistons.

20 quids worth of curiosity = 2000 quid sadness. Hope it goes ok bud, but remember alot of lads on here speak from experiance!!!

If they were a good idea surely a vehicle manufacturer would be onto it by now. Id be happy to test run it on the proton, but i wouldnt let it anywhere near the zed!

If they were a good idea surely a vehicle manufacturer would be onto it by now..........................!

Exactly!

Sooo many companies claim to have invented "a small cheap gadget that improves performance and economy of any car" but in reality they are crude devices that mess with the car's settings and line the pockets of the distributors:mac1:

As b19rks says, if these cheap add-ons really worked then every car manufacturer would fit them as standard.

Richard:x:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

there has been quite a few threads in the past on these things on this forum (and every other car forum I expect)

1 born every minute.

there is another saying. about fools and money

sory bud, but seeing as yoour fatehr isnt around to slap you round the head, ill do it for you.

As you bought this you may be interested in this exhaust whistle i have that makes your car sound like you have huge turbos.. £5.99 all in.

:rofl:seen these before and they are for small boats to draw bad air out the cabin and hold area...it will be on your car for a max of 2 mins before it gets booted across the yard:D

as i recently heard somewhere, if it was that good it would be on every shop shelf, not just on the bay of flea

Hi I knew there would be some piss taken and i will take it on the chin :mac1:

As far as being a boat intake i suggest rather than take the mickey, have at look at their own website and see the cars that have them and judge for yourself. Nearly all on sports cars

The worst that can happen is the maf wont adjust the air/fuel mixture quick enough or at all and then i just take it off and flog it to a saxo driving chav for twice the price.

But i will keep you informed so you can either eat your words or i eat humble pie:cry:

I don't know of anyone who's a) Actually bought one of these things until now or b) Put their car on a dyno and tested said device to see if it makes any difference whatsoever.

Since you've already passed go, why not pay yer rent at the dyno centre and get some real results posted up? It would be interesting to see, although I think the jury might already know what the results will be.

On a different train of thought: Connect a 12v bulb across across the wires and watch it light up when the engine is revving anything over idle!!

Ok i will put you out of your misery........:D

I didnt actually say it was for my Zed, after all there are many things that can go wrong with these babies without me adding an unknown equation, its for my other halfs mazda 323 1.5, it could do with a bit more juice and i thought it might be worth a go, good to guage the reactions though:rofl:

I have spent too much money on getting the engine sweet and to be honest i wouldnt want to tempt fate by putting anything on it that doesnt belong.

I will let you know how the mazda gets on with it
