might be lazy old springs or bushes worn

Had exactly the same problem with tyre wear, its wheel alignment with camber problem. You need to take to tyre place thats got good alignment equipment. Camber cant be done at front but rear camber can be done. Rear aligning needs doing as well as front as this throws out front, then front. Hope this helps

get them Lazer checked at a reputable tyre outlet. Just had mine done and they were miles out on the front. Feels totally different afterwards especially when cornering. The front end does drop on the suspension with age due to the weight and braking stresses, and I believe adjustable camber arms will cure this, but not a cheap job.

Hey all, and thanks for the replys. This hasn't happened suddenly , just gradually become the end of the tyres.Hi Old Zed ,what sort of moneys involved with adjustable camber arms?

On any thing like this I always point people in the directio of this web site.

http://www.wheels-inmotion.co.uk/

It explains lots about the set up of the car.

You will need upper adjustable arms if you are going to adjust the camber on the front or the cheaper option is a set of adjustment packings. You can get either I believe from DTA, one of the traders on the site.

It is well worth getting the whole car then sewt up properly by someone who knows what they are doing then. You don't relly need to know the settings as if they know what they are about they sould be able to find them in there alignment machine. If they can't then I would go somewhere else. It would be worth talking to Toni at WIM to see if he can recommend somewhere in your area that would be able to do it for you.

Good luck getting it sorted.

got the tracking done some time ago..it seems that was the problem back then as tyres aren't feathering like they did.All 4 need replacing soon so I will check it all out then

Had that problem with mine and it was the toplinks that were knackered. I replaced mine with OEM toplinks that I got from MJ Auto in the traders section, but as a few have said already you can replace with the adjustable camber links and I think Dan at DTA (also in the traders section here) sells them

Cheapest route is to have the tracking checked, its the most common fault for wear on innertyre tread, again, pot holes and bumping kerbs all throw it out.

Top tip*,,for any car,,to save some cash when you get to the the garage,,is to make sure the locking nuts on the track rod ends will open by using wd.40 and freeing them up,,saves time/labour at the garage 'cos somtimes they can be a pain to open.(if youre a keen diy'er obviously:p)

If the tracking is ok,,then, next stage is to check your front bushes for wear and any play in the suspension and front wheel bearings.Good luck:nana2:

(Camber is not adjustable unless you have an adjustable aftermarket set up.)
