Coppers picking on bikers now

Just watched a program on tv, cops got hyabusa's now to chase down bikers speeding...

Setting traps with cars and bikes, so not only 1 biker speeding and risking an accident but a cop bike and cop car risking other peoples lives driving though 30mph villages at 100mph +

Easy targets again !:hurl:

Its just the amount of money and time they spend on catching motorist that annoys me, get your house burgled or something, you wont see the .....rs !

just watching the smarmy pig scum on tv now, using laser traps and thinking they are so fookin high and mighty catching someone then spouting their patronising crap, they are actually delighted if they can get someones licence taken off them. They dont act so clever when one of em gets bumped off and their mates are all crying on the telly LOL.

Q) Do you know how fast you were going

A) Yes I do, how fast did you have to go to catch me as I was miles in front and how many MORE people's live's did you risk to catch me up  :nelson:

"TOO FAST TO LIVE : TOO YOUNG TO DIE"

.

I have spent the best years of my life going too fast on bikes. I know how bad that sounds but like any other crime (and I use the word lightly;)) you take the risk of getting nicked by the law. If that happens I say shut the fook up and take it on the chin. They are only doing their job even if it appears they are stretching that privilege sometimes. :p

Moan, moan, moan, same old story...

what story?

Sorry but yes, breaking the speed limit and the rules of the highway is against the law, however, my opinion is that this is not what the police should be responsible for!!

Yes have a seperate body maintaining law and order on the roads, however trained officials of the law such as the police should spend their time and skills bringing the harden criminals to task NOT the tax paying motorist.

There are far more henious crimes in todays society than road traffic offences (ie:speeding) and I think it is a waste of police time concentrating on them.

Its just my opinion but there you go, if the system is so adamant that crimes on the highway be tackled then lets let the boys in blue have relief from these issues and concentrate on bringing the scum of society to task.

Society has lost all confidence in todays policing, its not the fault of the police, they do as they are told, like any employee, the fact remains that there is too much emphasis placed on the motorist and it is creating hostility.

Well said Vinni. They are doing a job. Everyone is so quick to blame the police!!! It also acts as a deterant. So with a bit of luck, the speed reduction will be pro-active rather than re-active. You can't just let people get away with things.

I bet half the people on here would be up in arms if their children got mown down by a speeding biker saying 'where were the police'? You can't please everyone I guess, but they HAVE to be seen to be doing something.

As Vinni says, if you speed, take it on the chin, you're the person responsible.

What people also forget is that the police are given certain areas to target and reduce. They tend to be burglary, violent crime, vehicle crime, Class A drugs and road deaths. One of the most effective ways to reduce deaths is target speeding as it is usually a factor in most road deaths. Another point people miss is that the number of people speeding is not recorded only the amount penalised and I would bet the amount that go unpunished far exceeds the ones caught unlike the other crimes previously mentioned they are recorded if they are detected or not and so a percentage detection rate can be collated for government figures. These figures will show that a bigger percentage of people are convicted for the above mentioned crimes than the percentage of penalised motorists.

As Vini has said, if you can't do the time don't do the crime. If you get caught it's no one elses fault but your own.

Completely agree there.

i kinda agree but i know loads of people that wont stop for the police at all and that causes more danger on the roads. They have the means to get your number plate and send it through the post ! no fancy cars or bikes for them to chase people and they still get the conviction and money !

I was waiting in my vert at the roudabout just up the road and could here sirens so waited and a BMW estate and an X 5 came round the corner and both nearly lost it on the grass in the X5 and then shot off up the road !

So 2 things why do they need such expensive cars and what gives them the right to drive like tossers !

I think that they were pretty fair on there TBH, Like people have said if you don't wanna risk then don't exceed the limit-Fact is most of us go a lil' bit over where you judge appropriate (Hopefully) times/roads/conditions, and you'd all be gutted to get caught in 'those moments', but I'd rather see visable policing of our roads than the hidden money-making Gatso/camera speed-traps.

Camera's only target (speed) a 'factor' in accidents, they can't police unroadworthy vehicles, DUI, Uninsured or even unliscensed drivers. Just my opinion;)

Really felt for the poor biker who took a pheasant to the visor :x: OUCH!!

I think I was caught 2 days ago by mobile camera. However, it wasn't on a bike or in a van, just something at the side of the road..it may have been car tax checker but who knows.

I've siad this lots of times on this forum and I've argued with an officer about and got away with it... Speed doesn't kill....stopping really suddenly from high speed, now that kills.

Monty Python said it best in the "Galaxy Song"

Just remember that you're standing on a planet that's evolving

And revolving at nine hundred miles an hour,

That's orbiting at nineteen miles a second, so it's reckoned,

A sun that is the source of all our power.

The sun and you and me and all the stars that we can see

Are moving at a million miles a day

In an outer spiral arm, at forty thousand miles an hour,

Of the galaxy we call the 'Milky Way'.

Ar we dead because of these silly speed...NO...If it all stops we will be. The cop (nice chap) let me off when confronted with these fact and they are indeed factually spot on.

Well there is an article on the 'piston heads' site about them using normal vans now with camera's in, sly f**kers

Are you ****ing serious! its dickheads like you that make me want to do my job!

So when someone gives you a pasting for gobbing off too much, spouting such obvious shit, you wouldnt come crying to the police???? Complete and utter *****cks!

So you think that murderers, rapists, burglars, robbers, arsonists and pedos dont use high powered cars or bikes to get away from the police? How the **** do you think these people get caught, by magic???? You will find that the vast majority of High risk wanted criminals are nicked as a result of minor traffic stops.

It makes me laugh that such small minded twats have the ability to walk and breathe never mind use a computer!

Boils my ****ing blood

Must admit I have been helped by the police and I am so glad they were there.

What riles me is seeing them parked up on the A64 with a freakin speed gun, IMHO that is a waste of police time.

Collaring people driving like twats is fair game but stopping the average joe for doing 85 on the M1 thats what pisses me off!

I agree that it probably isnt the best use of an officers skills, BUT something like speeding can lead to bigger things, and if ACPO says we gotta increase the amount of people convicted for speeding, then we gotta do it.

At the end of the day which would you rather be caught by, an officer or a camera?
