With the recent "Antiroll bar size" related threads recently, and since I had each of the various types lieing around I thought I would take a few pics and measurements for future reference.

The U.S spec Bar shares the same size bars as the UK TT, and the pics clearly show why the U.S Sourced Polyurethane Anti roll bar bushes wont fit the Jap roll bar.

Jap Import Non-Turbo - 17mm Hollow

Jap Import Twin Turbo - 21mm Hollow

UK Twin Turbo - 27mm Hollow

Aftermarket Whiteline - 22mm Solid

LOL @ the N/A one. Looks like a string of spagetti in comparison. As always, UK ARB is rotten! ;)

Quite up for getting a whiteline ARB. Pretty good reviews in the US.

yeh lol the NA one sure does look pretty pathetic. The TT antiroll bar (27mm) is a popular upgrade for NA's in the U.S.

I can't believe they are hollow either. I know they have been, but I still don't know why they made them hollow.

Because torsional stiffness is proportional to radius^2 so a hollow bar of slightly larger diameter is as stiff and lighter than a slightly smaller soild one. The extra material in the very centre of a solid bar makes relatively no difference to the stiffness but adds weight and makes it easier to manufacture.

I know you're correct I'd never question that, just wondering why whiteline's are solid? Are they that way for people like me who are not so mechanically literate who think it's an added bonus? Might just stick with getting hold of a good UK spec one and getting it shot blasted/powdercoated.

Would guess just for manufacturing ease or that it's cheaper then buying thick walled pipe the right diameter.

Having said that the whiteline bars are excellent, totally transform the handling of the car to the point where you have to learn to drive it all over again, front end just refuses to understeer and the rear is much more progressive when it breaks loose, loved them.

Would I be right in thinking that if I swap my Jap TT ati roll bar for either a UK TT one or the whiteline one it will stop this....(see pic) ?

Installed Stillen sway bars front and rear and went from this -

The Stillen is similar to the Whiteline but the finish is better and they are adjustable.

Did it harden up the ride a lot ?

Antiroll bars have very little effect on ride stiffness.

The Whiteline Kit is adjustable front and fixed rear.

Could be time for an anti roll bar group buy !!! The last one was in May 2006 for the Whiteline ones for £190

Stillen is currently selling their (fully adjustable) version for US$277.76.

I know Dan at DTA is a Stillen reseller and have asked for a price, though if we can do a group buy, it would be cheaper (hopefully)

legrath does that mean you still have that uk bar lieing around :D

im after one of those and id clean it up a bit and spray it.

Just a note as well, DON'T buy drop links from Nissan - at over £70 just for the links with no bushes/washers/nuts its just not worth it. Buy the whiteline ones for £20ish delivered, for the PAIR ;)

FFS I got mine from 2fast2cool2 off ebay for £50, I'd rate them though !

How do they compare with adjustable ones from powertrix?

They ARE adjustable lol. Just universal fitment :)

Due to the fact that I've now had 3 requests for pricing information on the Full Stillen Adjustable Sway Bar Kit (incl. adjustable drop links and poly bushes) I have requested a price from them. Having purchased these kits for customers before I am aware that shipping costs for one kit or two kits is near enough the same so there could be some benefit to be had from ordering a pair rather than just one. I also know that Stillen WILL NOT mark down the shipped value of their goods so you WILL end up paying an additional 22% for import duty & vat.

When I get their pricing info I'll post it up here and we can see if there is enough interest for a combined order. I'm reluctant to organise a GB because the shipping cost is so high for these kits. But lets see where we go once prices have been set.

PS - I've had these on my car for over 3 years now and the difference is PHENOMENAL! You can preload the bar as much as you want to set the car up for under/oversteer, etc. And the droplinks are a work of art and very robust.

Now im not sure which to fit - A UK Rear bar or the Whiteline Rear bar.

27mm Hollow 2KG

or

22mm Solid 4.2 KG

The whiteline rear is'nt adjusable (only the whiteline front bar is).

I have to agree. I put these on my Blue Zed 4 years ago and said at the time that these where the greatest handdling mod I'd ever done to the car.

I already had SPL ajusterble Camber kits, toe kit, tie bar kit, Stillen HICA Elliminator and strut braces, but these sway bars made the most noticable possertive handling improvement of all.

That's good as I have all those (except the strut braces) and I have already noticed a big difference in the handling. So getting new anti rolls bars will make it even better :)
