Had a neighbour knock on my door this morning as somebody has tried to steal my car. Window smashed and ignition ripped to pieces. :(

Nothing taken though.

little sh*ts! at least u still have the car. I live in Emersons green (cave grove) and a few months back my peugeot 306 was broken into but luckly i dead locked the car so all i had was a bent door as they reached down to pull the lock up, though a few doors up a clio had it stereo stolen. its a targeted area now i feel.

I just off emmersons green lane, i think that was the problem i parked my car last in the line so its the first one visible from the main road. whoever did it was amature as i hot wired it in 4 seconds lol. I would like to see them try an get it now, most of the engine parts have been removed just in case lol.

I moved it now though to its proper safe place :)

Alarm was removed as it broke and caused the car to permenantly immobilise. As my car was getting fixed it didnt get another alarm, was sorting that out this month but some greasy feck beat me to it lol.

An alarm is a priority on these cars, over and above all other mods / improvements, especially if parked on the road. No alarm = trouble. The car looks fast stationary, an obvious target.:(

tbh i would not have reallt cared if they had taken it, but the lousy twats left it and i had to spend all day fixing it. I know people who have had their cars stolen with alarms, mine will have one but a was a tad short after fixing her and i havent spent anything on mods.

what about insurance! couldnt insure mine for reasonably money without a thatcham1 fitted and working. lucky they never took it if alarm wasnt working that would have stung the pockets after all you went through to get car back on road! alarm first.:D

This is the first attempted break in on a car I have ever had and thats not bad for 34 years of age. I will get one but i think it was an oppertunistic attempt by amatures and feel the area i live in is very safe. I will get an alarm now but ive owned z for 4 years and living in the same house have had no problem. Ive put a note in the window which says "car broken, non broken version parked in sainsbury, go get that one" LOL

OI! those *******s come at my car and touch it there will be trouble! Mine has a full Cat1 alarm with Immoiser btw.. I just dont want anyone breaking into my baby :(

true but nu excess is £500.00 so loks like i have to fork out to fix it myself :(

Bloody w*****s! They need a peice of string tying tightly around their balls!!!

If i remember correctly....aren't ALL windows in a car covered by the windscreen policy on the insurance? i know mine were on my old car when it got broken in to, they cracked the screen and smashed the driver side window an rear quater window....rang insurance company and got them all replaced for the £60 excess. so check your policy mate!

He already sorted it :) Got a window for free i believe, from a very kind member on here :D

Yep window sorted as above, its a brown tint one and the others are blue. I will either look at getting a blue tint at some point and returning the brown tint one to SWZ or of getting somebody to tint both (if that will work). I not too fussed at the moment as having the window has got me out of a tight spot of rain wrecking my seats.

I though i lost the panel under the steering wheel, which annoyed me as it has S3 trim and would be a tad difficult to replace, but i found it last night in a neighbours front garden :). Need to fit a new ignition, managed to rewire the ignition so it all works, not as easy as you think as the wire colours dont correspond so its a bit of gues work and luck.

Will have to buy a complete lock set in the furure as it will effect the value having a seperate key for ignition and doors, but this wont be a priority until i repray her to sell, which is planned ready for the start of next summer.

I hope that they get caught by the barrel of a shotgun! Get a damn job you little sh*ts!!! bet they wouldnt like it if their welfare cheque got stolen!!!

Sods near my sisters used to swap crooklocks from one car to the other :slap:

You can only slow a good? thief down + try to put off the amateurs.Putting a 'alarm fitted' sticker helps, but not the make as that only helps them.

Hide an ignition/fuel cutting switch by making it visible ,but describing another action on it is good :p
