i'm in the same boat here unfortunately:cry: mines been playing up while driving too, late gear changes, non existant gear changes and to top it all off i have no idea what to do with it:confused:i've just disconnected the battery on mine to try and reset the ECU, not sure it'll help, but it's about the only thing i'm confident in doing to my Z

is yours a auto?

if it is try a gearbox ecu diagnostic, sounds like the revolution/speed sensor

as above..try the temp sensor..ecu one:) and the fact the idle drops down in D is the t/c drag

like others have said , it sounds like a intermitent fault so probably dirty connection to ecu water temp sensor , or idle control valve maybe

no error codes at all. Just dont understand it, it is so intermittent. I can stop the car at traffic lights and the idle is fine, then the next lights it will idle high and then normal again and so on!!

did you do the test mate? any codes ?

3rd flash was the long one - throttle sensor circuit, at least i know where to start now

more developments. There is a black electrical connection clip with wires near the tps sensor with another connector going into it. What is this as when I squeeze the two plugs closer together it goes back to normal idle? It pushes in by about 5mm so it is loose. Is this connected or is it just fluke it idles fine when pushed?
