my pc acted funny today and now it wont come on. i shut down my pc this afternoon then i got a blue screen it went off before i could read it, but now my pc wont come on. i have checked the connections in the pc they seems fine. the pc starts up but i have no display, my monitor doesn't come on it doesn't sound like the pc i starting up right

I think you need to keep pressing F8 during the boot sequence to get an option for a Safe Start then do a restore to last known environment and that should fix it

computer does nothing i power it up the HD light flashes then stays on for 20-30 seconds and goes off. nothing happens in this time no display either, no bleep from my motherboard, if i push any buttons on the keyboard nothing happens i think my motherboard has gone its a asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe

Not being a pc guru but this happened to me once and a mate told me to actually unplug the plug form the power socket in the wall and the re-plug it in again and try and start it then

 

I know it sounds stupid but it actually worked for me

 

Don't laugh guys but its worth a try

reset your bios you can do this by unplugging your pc open the case find the small battery on the motherboard take it out wait a few minutes pop it back in then put the thing back together and try it

i have cleared the cmos unplugged all parts on the mobo put it back together but no differance all my parts are still garanteed but its finding out which one it is. what happens if SATA drives fail?

If you have no bios screen and no bios beeps at start up sounds like a dogey motherboard or power supply to me but im no expert far from it in fact :smw:

thats what i thought no bleep or bios screen, i had this problem before i sent it back and they tested it and said nothing was wrong when i out it back together it worked fine.

try using the onboard VGA insted of a graphics card to see if it's that also try the other parts in a donor pc if you have access to one

took my pc to bits and tried all my parts one by one starting with just the board and cpu and it bleeped put the graphics card in the same and the display too the plugged the ram in, the pc broke again took just one stick of ram in and the pc works fine. so i was wrong it wasn't the mobo it was one of my ram, good job its got lifetime warranty
