might sound daft but have you checked the cable aint snagged somewhere.

thanks for help mate but its fine

I know what it is as it happened to mine years ago :o Its the plastic pipes on the top of the timing cover

my car also revs high but doesnt stall instead it launches when i put it into drive.

Could this be the same problem? do the plastic pipes leak?

its a big ask but could you possibly take a picture of these pipes so i can see what ones they are cheers

cheers pal and what did you do to fix the problem?

its in the link mate, makes a very intresting and potentially life saving read, and iff you aint got the time just pull them out and locktite or threadlock them back in using a few small taps with a light hammer

ok just checked it out and they have not come out, gave them a bash just to make sure. Have you any over ideas as i have none lol. cheers

Car is now always ticking over at 1500rpm

Mine did this- stuck idling valve- back of engine on battery side- had to replace it- b of a job!!

If you look in the manual its the one with the slotted screw for adjusting idling- threads on here describe process but mine did nothing when turned so quickly obvious u/s.
