Breakdown Recovery

After last nights escapade i think i need to get some breakdown recovery.

I know this was mentioned in a prevoius thread, are AA the best or are there some bargains around like Direct line and Green Flag or are they crap.

If you're trying to save money try these. I've been told they're good but, touch wood, have not had to try them out yet.

I've always used the AA.

Last summer when a head gasket went bang, the AA guy said that he'd just tell the recovery people it was the gasket so that they'd get me home and have a proper fix on it, instead of some roadside bodge job because the car was to good for that!

Service or what! smile.gif

Think im going to go for AA then.

Darren quoteline did give me a much cheaper quote and looked quite good but it said they charge you labour after 60 mins, just a bit worried a mechanic is going to turn up and do 55 mins of head scratching with this car. I'm always scratching my head when i lift up that bonnet. smile.gif

Cheers guys

As Craig pointed out to me, the AA has better options than some others if you want to go to Europe. I think it's free for two days or so...

Otherwise when I last compared rac, greenflag and aa are the same price for what I wanted.

break down with the AA 2 hours wait for a flatbed for a non flat bed tow truck,

break down with greenflag, wait 20minutes for a flatbed truck.

none with my zed fortuently smile.gif

The RAC covers up to 5 people in a family membership. With the AA family members over 21 have to join themselves. For my mob, I saved over £200 for full relay etc cover by moving to the RAC from the AA.

I know that you will all say that we aren't even 21 ourselves, but if that is the case, get your dad to join and use his family membership.

i only joined one a couple of years ago, and that was aa.

as Jez says, this was mostly becuase i was doing a lot of driving in france that year and they had best cover for that.

have called them out a few times this year, once for my zed, 3 times for my shogun, and have always sent exactly what was needed (flat bed for shogun too...)

cannot fault them so far....

but everyone has different preferences and experiences, same as tuning companies wink.gif
