was driving home after visiting a friends and was about 2 minutes away from home when i heard a pop and my car came out of control. car slided to the left followed by the right. tried to shove car into neutral as i have an auto and this helped braking a bit more but too late............. hit a post and bent fender in.

crawled home as i was close and inspected car thoroughly. important internals seem to be unaffected/crushed. intercoolers looked fine and car was still running like a dream. Really upset and even tho i have will get a new fender the bit under the fender i.e the wheel arch will need to be banged out or replaced. can anyone suggest or give me some advice on what to do. at the moment if i just replace the fender there will be a spot that the fender will be able to push in with hands. I know i may not be making much sense but i am really upset at the moment. i will include pictures that i have taken once i find the cable that connects to my pc. Once again please help me.

Cheers

yeah. got a picture which i will show later. tyre has a nasty tear. wished i had a manual when it happened as i would of shoved clutch in. unfortunately i auto so engine was still winding down after taking foot off. wish i had enough time to shove in neutral.

I utterly sympathise with you as I had a tyre go as I was approaching a roundabout, you can guess what happened!

The lack of control you have is incredible I had my boyfriend in the car and BOTH of us couldn't control the car

Don't be too hard on yourself; you did the best you could in the circumstances and most importantly no one was hurt

You have some serious friction wear on the tyre wall...

You sure you hav'nt clipped a kerb or something? Or was that caused in the accident?

im afriad i don't know. i felt and heard something but i dont know what. all i know is the cars back end went crazy. got spare tyre and getting a new one for the dead one but i don't know what to do about bumper and fender! reckon i can get someone to beat out the bit behind fender/bumber? i worry that buying one of each wont just do the job. surely a new bumper and fender won't fit onto the bits bent in? annoying thing is it went in for a oil change and brake pad change and was told tyre has loads of life left. guess i shouldnt of took their word for it

A good body shop will pull that dint out and the bumper is poly propelene and will pop back into shap with alittle heat from a heat gun.

Then its jst a a blow over the wing and bumper. would have thought £300 ish. not worth claiming for it or you'll pay more in increased premium next year than the cost of the repair.

Yep easy repair.Tho you have creased the line, personally would replace wing but i`m fussy, bumper shouldn`t be a prob and it`s the washer bottle, empty space and a bracket behind the damaged area so not too bad.Wed would be best for me to have a closer look if you still want me too. Will resend mail so you can contact me if needed.

Any respectable body shop will fix this for you...

Have a drive around and get some quotes.

Marks right should be no more than 300 quid to fix up.

you are all so helpful ^^ does anyone know someone that can paint seperate pieces of body work i.e fender and match the colour to the car, its black but so far i have foudn people will only paint the items with the car needed spray for the rest. while i would want to do this in the future (and maybe a new colour) i can't afford it at the mo due to alot of activities going on these few months.

i appreciate all the help you are giving and think its about time i subscribe once im paid on the 23rd (after all its clearly worth the money with the amount of help im getting)

i had no problem getting my f bumper resprayed by itself.

The wing and front bumper come off v easily, bit like a meccano set...Bolt off, bolt on...

really? did it match the car ok? is it easy to do? My step father used to own samurai performance engineering but they were *&*%" and i don't speak to him as hes a door knob. but they owned an spray booth oven and paint machine and i wish i watched them do it more, i know it has to be well ventilated and clean with no dust when spraying. any advice on how to spray fender myself as i dont wanna speak to the door knob ever again. maybe i could pay someone to help me ???? ^^
