i've had 1... yes 1 request about possible meet locations via PM...... everyone moans nothing is in there area or it's too far to go if only afew ppl turn up... well i have given every one of you the opportunity to get something in your area, how many of you even bothered???

Mate its not an easy job, youll never keep everyone happy. But it still early in the year.

 

I had 30 people say they would come to the Phoenix meet i arranged, but only 6 turned up. Yeah i was a bit miffed, but i aint the time of the year fella.

Steve you have a very close area on the Z club, and your meets have been going for a long time, i apreciate that.

 

When the members in my area moan at me for not arranging anything, it get's my back up, i then arrange something for every sunday in the month, and get a nothing, 1 person turned up to the first offcial meet of the Year in the SE Area... what does that tell you!

I have to say the biggest thing i notice about the SE area, it seems to be left completely to the REO, no one else seems to arrange regular meets in the area!

This is not the case either, only theother Week there was a Jap ca meet at the Bishop stortford Services on the M11, not arranged by me, byall accounts when down ok.

TGhe things that pisses me off the most..... the Charity even at Billing in May, have a look in the SE section.... how many ppl have posted about getting a few mini convoys up!!!! Dont bother looking i'll tell you.... 1....... and do you know who that was.... ME! there are at last count about 90 ppl going to that event.... and i'd imagine quiet a few from the SE as it's in our area..... but the SE curse hits again and no one can be bothered to make an Effort, Saz and Andy even spoke about getting a picture of the Areas turning up...... i told them not to bother with the SE as ppl will just turn up when they like, fook the convoy thats trying to be arranged!

Mark you were one of the main ppl who kicked up a massive stink about the Summer party date and venue... and never bothered after that in fact i dont think i've ever seen you post about attending on a meet thead! so in fact your one of the ppl that has got my back up.... and again you prove it by your childish and pretty stupid post above! how does that help anything at all??? really i'd like an answer!

Crikey! Shame that things aren't working out. Seems to be a large bunch of people in the area, you get the best weather in the UK and there are some nice coastal spots/roads in that area too. Seems sad that no one seems bothered even about the summer stuff.

Hold on, so i try and help give possible reasons why SE attendances have been lacking for a while, and yet i get shot down, twice.

 

So i post a sarcastic reply, which then gets edited because its not helpful.

 

So enlighten me, what would be helpfull?

 

Fair enough if people complain that there are no meets that suit them, i can see that being annoying, but if people aint going to come, they aint going to come and no amount of "polite notices" are going to change things.

Dick Turpin. I started it. had a fair turn out the first month, 2nd it was just me on my jack. I have tried a few things since, no takers.

As I dont have a car atm its a tad hard getting to anywhere, plus I for one have a bloody good excuse, I work on the weekends but not many others do. The dick turpin meet was even time changed from what I proposed first, then even I couldnt make the earlier time. SO you wont see me there any time soon as I am either coaching or playing a match. Sorz teh Zed will always come third to work and competition.

 

When push comes to shove this is an internet forum and not realy a car club. People meet here, many dont make to many mates on here localy, other than Nick and Mike Groves I dont know anyone round this neck of the woods, Wozza is probably the only exception and he's jacked the club in by the looks of it.

 

Personaly I am with you, I think the SE section needs to be put in the bin. Face facts a lot of people realy dont like driving more than 10 miles for a meet. If it gets merged with SC then they aint gona go anywhere, such is life, such is people. The other thing is, there does seem to be a bit of a spread of zeds in essex. Not many down this neck of the woods.

 

Or it could just be we are a bunch of unsociable barstools.

I think there are some events that can be done:

 

One BBQ at the start of the summer on the essex coast

One BBQ at the end of the summer on the south coast

A dyno day in spring or autumn

A Xmas dinner in centralish london

 

It may be an idea to combine the 300zx meet with the zed club and this will take care of any monthly meets needed?

 

I think the problem with the area is geographic, meets in southend are a 2 hour drive for me and vice versa!

Personaly my cars been off the road a while but when its back on the road i use it for pleasure (not commutin) so will get to as many meets as possible!!!

yep. I do absolutly everything I can to make meets, but someone always naffs it up at teh club and I end up having to work, or some bloody bill comes in and I have to work to pay it off.

thats fair enough but then the said person does not bother correcting the list, which is rude imho.

 

Thing is it can be very deflating trying to arrange things and then getting no response.

 

As an REO you have to attend the meets you arrange and give up your spare time, whats the point though if no one else is willing to get involved, meets make a club, not an online forum.

well, as as been said, it's a large area and your unlikely to see me at a meet in Southend or north of the top of the M25.

 

I went on the last 2 box hill to brighton runs which were excellent and i went to the christmas meet at the carvery

and am happy to go to any meets in the south half of the south east region as long as i don't have to go to work instead

 

also the SC meet that hapened at the end of last year in the SE area was well attended by people living in that part of the SE rather than actual SC people so maybe sending them PMs about the next gashopper meet?

 

 

i have to say i either didn't see the post about the new year meet or got the grasshopper and dick turpin confused. I do try and look at the forum every day but honestly didn't click that it was on or i would have been there

Splitting the area up would also be my suggestion. The only problem with that is that people still won't turn out to a meet.

 

I have been to several out of the are, the midlands a couple of times and once down to cornwall, I have to say though that while it is good to meet up with people, it gets a bit tedious having to go to the Turpin for our monthly meets when it is a 2 hour round trip.

 

I did go to a meet at the grasshopper one sunday, it turned out to be a long drive just to sit and have a carvery with the wife. I could have saved myself 50 quid and gone to the local. I wasn't impressed that even the organiser didn't turn up.

 

The only way forward as I can see it is for people to post up if they fancy having a meet up. Give a location and a time and see who else wants to come along. It is a big area which seems to run from around stanstead in the north east right down to the bexhill area. Unfortunately stuck in the middle of that, is london, which can make for a long drive.

 

I do feel for you in trying to organise anything, I have tried a few times myself with differing results. I think the only way for this region to go is for people to organise some local meets for themselves and for you to perhaps try and organise one or two bigger meets.

 

I haven't committed to ZOO8 yet as I don't know what I will be doing.

Me too. I don't want to put my name down and then let people down...

It does get annoying when people say they are going then dont turn up :rant: but SW doesnt really have that problem we just get the same faces up and down the country :bow: Like Gloucester wont go to Cornwall and vice versa, so I just tend to split the groups and meet people in there area, seems to work just means I have to travel all over the SW but the z gets a good blast :D Cant please everyone tho thats the trouble
