advice needed . fitted some avo lowering springs alround yesterday . all went well till this morning. went to go out in the motor and noticed some oily fluid behind the car . looks like the rear damper seals have give up the ghost . the question is do i need uprated shorter dampers on the rear or will oem rear shocks do the job . as i don't want to fit new standard shocks for them to go the same way

. cheers :D

Sounds like your shocks were at the end of there life....tbh most Z32's will be the same unless there history of them being replaced.

They will reduce the shocks lifespan though because of the harder spring rates.

If your going to change the rears then best change the fronts too

You can get a Set of KYB AGX adjustable for the price of a new set of standards...or the KYB GR's for less. Both offer improved damping over stock.

I had the same problem.

so instead of purchasing standard shocks i went for kyb uprated shocks which are slightly stiffer which will help with them bottoming out, they also fit with springs that fit original struts, i think thats the best bet IMO.

and they are not as expensive as standard either.

haha didnt see this thread, you made 2 identical threads so i posted on the other....

pretty much said the same as legrath.

when i fit my kyb gr's il let ya know what they are like then you can make your choice they are in the post somewhere across the world at the mo.

If your interested I have a almost brand new set of Tokico Gas shocks.

When I say almost I mean just that. 1 has never even been out of its box and 2 were on the car for 2.5 days. I was fitting them with a Ground Control coilover kit. So I had dropped the old springs out only to discover that the coilovers were for Koni Shocks which have a narrower flange on the spring bed so wouldn't fit properly. So I had to get home and the rear shocks I'd taken off were totally goosed so put them on and replaced them 3 days later.

I payed almost £200 with the VAT So Would let em go for £150 posted to your door.
