Anyone fitted these before.

I need to know a few things to see if I'm being strung up once again.

With the manifolds do the bolts need to be shortened or do they fit straight on ?.

Do the JWT530bb's fit straight on without hitting the block or do you need to modify something for them to fit. I'm using HKS actuators with them if that helps. ?

The Nismo 555's, do they come with seals or do you need to order them seperate ?. Or do they come with the complete engine bebuild gasket set.

The manifolds should be straight on.

The turbos should also fit straight on without hitting anything

If the injectors are new then yes they should come with seals, if not then just order some new ones from one of the traders etc

Ok I'm being fed a complete load of *****x again them.

Been told the manifold bolts have to be cut down.

And the block has to be modified for the turbo's to fit.

Also told that the injectors don't have any seals with them.

Manifolds may well need the studs modifying slightly, I know there were some initial fitment issues but not sure if they were resolved.

The block itself won't need modifying, more likely the engine mount may need to be ground slightly to give enough clearance for fitment though.

No the injectors DON'T come with the seals and the seals don't come in the rebuild gasket kit either...

Cheers,

Andy

jeez! has this lot not even been fitted yet stu?? thought it was just finishing off you needed to do! :(

the greddy ones and the pentroof ones dont need changing.

i would be suprised if the mounts would need changing, we only just had to grind mine slightly with the td05-18g's and they are much bigger so i doubt it and i would have thought the oem black pipework would fit directly onto the front of the turbos or at worse an adaptor plate to make them fit?

sorry i thought the injectors came with seals, i know my new injectors came with seals with the border kit?

Good luck with it bud

These are the Greg Dupree ones though, inconel? I think a few studs did need modifying but thats still nothing major!!!

I had to grind the engine mount to fit the PE1420s so I wouldn't be surprised if these needed it too.

The border kit will come with the rings, however these are swap in 555s which come as just the injectors....

Ok I serached a few other forums to confirm.

Apparently with the JWT530bb's the nearside turbo is a problem, the engine mount needs to be modified slightly to get these to sit right with a sufficient amount of air room around the turbo. The block also needs to be modified a little to also allow for the heat shields to have enough room. You can squeeze it in without modifiing the block but this will stress the turbo as the heat casing will be resting on the block itself.

The HKS Actuators need to be modified also very slightly as the stem is slightly too long.

The GD Manifolds have a built in grove to allow the bolt to pass up alongside. However 2 of these bolts are a little too long and either the bolts need to be cut down very slightly or the manifold needs the resess enlarges for the bolt to pass. Cutting down the bolt seems the best option.

Checked with the company that supplied the Nismo 555's and as these are intended to be a straight swap they do not supply the seals for them. Each injector requires 3 separate seals. However a complete set of new seals for all the 370cc and 555cc (use the same seals) can be bought from nissan main dealer for as little as £12.

This pretty much tallys up with what I have been told.

I'm hoping to get some pictures sent to me today so I will post them up to show what has been done to get it all fitted correctly.

i'm really suprised about the turbos as my 18g's didnt need any mods to the block although i did need to take some out of the mounts to get decent sized pipework to the air feed to them.

the 530's are not that much bigger than stock turbos just newer technology and the oem pipework bolts up to the front which takes it past the mounts

very suprised if it all needs this much work but hey thats tuning ;)

Good luck with it mate

Mike

I never had any fitting problems with the 530's

Some things like the heatshield and RH actuator-arm may be a tight fit, but I never had to modify anything.

Don't have any experience with the GD manifolds though....maybe that is what's causing the fitment problems ?

thats what i was thinking, maybe it changed the angle the turbo sits??

Does anyone on here have the GD manifolds with JWT530bb combination ?

doubt it, I think only you and I have the GD mani's on here.

He should have know about the bolt issue from fitting mine, but my tubs are a bigger and needed the mounts and inner wing modified

perhaps the turbos are clocked at slightly the wrong angle! even if the heatshields are a tight fit there tin metal so hardly much other than a wizz with a dremmel here and there same for the engine mount bracket!

You are dreaming if you think you'll get a full set of O rings and Injector seating rings for less than about £70 sorry to say Stu.

I think the big O rings are £34 for 6 and the Smaller Orings and injector seats are both £22 for 6

He has already got them apparently and they were only £12.

Don't worry though I'll be asking to see all the reciepts for anything that he has said he needed to buy. ;)

So whats happened so far Stuart? Is martyn carrying on with the job or have i missed something

Yep he's still doing it.

He rebuilt the heads, ported and polished them, built the block up with new weisco pistons, balanced crank etc.

Now he's fitted the manifolds and turbo's after a bit of modifiing.

I've attached a few pics to show the clearance needed.

Difference between stock and HKS actuators

Modification to block needed as turbo doesn't fit

attachment.php?attachmentid=39632&stc=1

Tubo's fitted after block modified.

Hope nothing gets dropped into the turbo!!!! :slap:

Don't worry it'll shoot straight out when he starts it up....

Oh yeah... ;)

Why didn't you go for the Mike Smith Manifolds as you don't need to do all the fannying around with those turbos?
