Hi,

 

I'm getting totally fed up with the place who has my car trying to find someone to spray it. It's currently sitting with no paint at all on it and I'm not waiting for them any longer. I've got one place to call on Monday (thanks Darren) but does any know of any good bodyshops who can spray a pearl colour and can finish off some filler/fibreglass work? The only problem is my car is not exactly drivable so can't be too far from Watford/NW London.

mach1 motorsport up the m11 nr stansted... youll have to be prepared to wait though... hes busy! most work carried out for show cars/magazine shoots etc so the finish you get is second to none :)

my old mans place is shit hot on that but it's a bit far for you being in south wales, hope you have protected the bare metal thats showing as you don't want any more rust

that's the problem, at the moment there's no protection what so over, just bare metal :(

Yeah, the guy that did my car. I had mine sprayed then the paint detailed. But the guy that sprayed my car does all the VW camper vans and custom stuff. He's had quite a few of his jobs on feature cars in some of the VW magazines.

 

He owns and runs 'Castle Garage' in Bampton, Devon, just a small bodyshop, bit he's good and has lots of experience in painting pearls and candys etc. The pearl in mine is very evenly sprayed.

sounds like he'd do a lovely job but think the disctance would be a bit of a problem :(

To be truthful with you vijay I seen many good bodyshops work and their work lacks credance under close scrutiny, the only one that stands out in sheer quality is Bibby bodystyling!

again can recomend s.c performance in taunton bit far but good prices/turnover.

Mark, you're right mate, someone elses idea of a quality job might not be the same as ours and I've had a few jobs like that :( Cheers for the suggestions guys but distance is a bit of an issue. I have to get the car to them/them come to the car just to get a price :(

give derek @ mach1 motorsport a try mate and see when he can fit you in... he does just the type of work that your after... in fact, his big project last year won best of britain in the donny show :)

Hi, have you tried Acton CoachWorks?? Its in NW London so cant be far from you. I have had 2 cars done there before the was very pleased. My mate works there as the top sprayer? (Paints the cars) Hes been there since its opened i think. He is the supervisor there now too and check on all the progress and paint jobs done buy other staff. He done a Buggatti Veyron some time ago so guess he cant be that bad. Last time i went there they had over 20 Ferrari's, 2 Phantoms, 4 Lambos etc... Dont know if you heard about jeremy Clarkson crashed a green lambo quite some time ago, well it was fixed there too. Queens Roller been there, Footballers cars, Robbie Williams Roller etc... so they have got very good reputation.

Price wise, couldnt say you would have to pay them a visit, or call them up.

There is a VERY proffessional body shop in Chiswick. Always repairing vintage cars, sports cars etc etc, called GYN and on ***** Lane. Have been in there to chat to them and there all good guys. They also send stuff to my dad in sussex for sand blasting..

Oh........And on the protection side of things the car needs Zink Phosphating asap if its not gonna be painted, my dad does this. PM me if your interested
