This is not one of the best of examples, very dented and scratched bodywork, but very low miles of 22,500. Exterior Grade was D, (very poor), overall Grade 3.5 but only because of the low mileage otherwise this a Grade 2.5/3 car... anyhow it's one of the first i've seen in a while, even from the pic you can tell the bodywork is not that great!! Interior does look good:), the car itself is a 2+2 TT Auto...

Nice. A light blow-over and some UK spec rims and you're set. :) ....oh, and binning the autobox! :)

Yeah but it's all too much hassle, unless someone was happy for me to import it "as is" I wouldn't import this one... reg date on this was Sept 1999...

You'd have a year to get it pristine then. Nice project. I'd do it! No space for 3 cars though and NSX is next. :)

Yeah good idea if you wanted to have one of the first 99 spec TT's in the UK... I suppose you could spend the year not only making it mint but also doing some performance/body upgrades, or if you're someone who has access to trade plates then drive it around on trade plates for a year!!

i thought they got rid of the digital climate control in th alater models. guess i was mistaken LOL

no, became optional.

Interesting, so can you retro fit them?

A nice looking car only let down by the wheels and the wheelbarrow handle exhaust. How small ?

What body 'upgrades'?

Stillen sideskirts and door fillers, job done:)

and maybe a subtle rear skirt for the rear bumper...

Interesting, but I'm wondering how much will something like that will cost to buy in japan (in sterling)? and how much to get it over here?

its a shame with jap cars how the rears date so quickly, like the mr2, gto, mk3 supra and the 300zx, and the fronts still look so dam good

can you buy 99spec front lights, i woulndt mind some :)

so how much, if that did come to the UK would it fetch realistically?

Don't know, this is the first 99 model that I will monitor in Japan, so will know in a day or so what it sells for...

I believe so, and i think they are OVER £1000!!!!

zcenter sell them, can't be arsed looking them up though.

Car was sold at auction for 1,716,000 JPY, so add a 100,000 JPY for agent fee's = 1,816,000 JPY

Using an ex rate of 230 JPY / £:

This works out at £7,895 purchase price in Japan

Shipping, tax, duties etc £3,000

Landed UK cost £10,895

UK OTR price £11, 250

I think it was the mileage that was the big factor, bodwise it was not great, although not accident grade it has had quite a few dings and scratches... like I say I will keep monitoring them over the next few months:)

Rear end is the best view IMHO. Placed on the road with other cars, it's practically unrivaled. Wide, low and exotic looking. Rear lights look ubber cool, especially at night. Very little comes close.
