ah fuck it, i love this place so much, i could kill it

what a piss poor pile of absolute shit

creche is closed, go home to your parents

everyone come see me at billing, i'll fight all of you blindfolded with my hands tied to my feet and my car parked up my arse

you cant miss me, i'm the short skinny bloke who tries to be friendly, help everyone out and provide a service that should be useful

many many thanks to all the people that want to see the forum live on under its own steam (i can count you all on my own digits and other appendages....) but i'm sorry to say that i am considering sending all the money back to you

either that, or i make this a completely private forum for the aforementioned people that have shown support, and we become one of the smallest internet cliques in existence

it is a shame that two of the biggest and funniest characters on here dont get along, but thats life

i wont try to calm things down, as i get accused of taking sides, but i dont give a stuff who is right and who is wrong

everyone please just keep posting all the crap, start more and more arguments, and drive all the other owners away, we dont need most of the members...

how do we even know they exist, they never post anything, can't understand for the life of me why not....

i mean after all, isnt everyone a bad mouthed, short tempered, overly aggressive, narrow minded conman, just out to rip friends and family off ?

i am sure that was the criteria to join this flea infested pit of boy racers

enjoy the forum for as long as it takes for my ex employer to find my server in their datacenter, cos i'm not sure i even want to bother anymore, and i'm damn sure they'll turn it off when they do find it

YOu may have a bit of problem with getting a tower into a rack in england, its easier in the states, personally we don't use towers because they waste to much space.

If you can get a 1u together which I know is difficult due to the cost of the case (300quid opposed to 40quid for a normal tower case.) I will be more than happy to put it in my rack in london with 20gig of bandwidth a month gratis.

I would take a tower if I could but its not finacially viable.

Mike

Top guy Mike Groves, what an offer, we just need enough cash for a 1U server.

C'mon guys, this is looking possible.

I'd like to make a comment.

Everyone who has actually sent a cheque to Craig - good for you for showing true support (and let's face it, £20 is NOTHING).

For those who have also offered help in other ways then even bigger thanks. I haven't yet (although I've explained why to Craig - personal circumstances which WILL get easier and I will then offer more).

But for those of you who haven't paid up but are suggesting different ways to do things (different payment methods, different ways to run the forum, etc), SOD OFF.

If you can afford a Z then you can afford £20. Fucking pay it. Craig & Nico between them have run this forum for years. They deserve some loyalty so stop saying you know better ways to do things and do it their way or shut up.

I've never posted like this before - I've never been so wound up. I will always have respect for Craig & Nico for what they've done here and they're both friends. But I'm not convinced that I'll stay on this forum unless people use it for what it was intended for. I hope I do stay as I've met some great friends and made many more e-acquaintances.

Everyone chill and please show a little support for those guys who have kept this going.

Just to clarify...........

I am going to be sending a cheque to Craig as promised....

But not till payday (15th of every month) because of;

1. New boots cost me 379

2. Holiday cost me 802

3. Gearbox flush and oil change cost me 145

4. Insurance cost me 329

5. Tax cost me 160 (sure it was that!)

6. Am now skint till the 15th.

Craig you will get your money.

Just felt like I had to tell you the above, Dave made me feel really guilty... frown.gif

Nice one Dave, thats 12 lines of wordage that make perfect sense.

I owe this forum more than I can quantify money wise, from the help and support when I bought my first lemon ZX to the last year of trouble free motoring in my current Z.

I think a few too many people round here think this place is either a personal playground or a place to leech from 'till it dies.

Peace be with you all.

Ian (Royal Mail Engineer)

i am currently doin my degree at uni in computer science. in 1 yrs time i will be finished and after that shud able to setup a forum like this (shud not b too difficult) but cant promise anything yet as my current project commitment is to design and implement an online e-commerce system for in-car entertainment - also hoping to buy my zed soon :-)

Hi All,

Firstly, I would like to say to Craig and Nico, Thanks for running the forum.

Secondly Timmy Turbo and 300ZX, if you want to slate each other off, then why don't you do it in private.

I am grown up to assess each of you myself, I do not need your public discussions aired!

You both know each other email addresses, get on with it!

I have taken a few kickings and given a few I am ashamed to say, but this great big war of HANDBAGS is killing me and I almost feel like volunteering my own body for the sacrificial beating to end this farce.

You are both affecting the goodwill of this forum by your stuborness to accept that each other has something that they need to address aside from their 300zx.

I joined this forum because I love the 300ZX, this forum helps me run a car that otherwise I couldn't afford to run! I have discovered mutual friends that have helped me to do so,that, I hope is why we are all here.

Mark

What TopLess said....

I have to agree with him 'cos he's bigger than me. lol

BTW, when two people get involved in a slagging match, I take less notice of them in future. So you're not just annoying me, the admins and a lot of other peeps here you're also damaging your own credibility.

Like has been suggested before, why not e-mail each other and leave this place alone when you're fighting.

When the forum is working, it's great. When there's idiocy, I can't recommend it to anyone and feel ashamed of what goes on here. Sad when some are trying to get more members, more contributions and turn into a proper club.

FFS I don't beleive the amount of lame excuses on here.

We all have our own bills to pay, but Craig has been talking about this for weeks now.

There is BIG RED writing at the to of the page explaining everything you need to know!!

I bet everyone one here has spent more than £20 on something they could have left for a few days.

The fact IS 99% of us can afford to send £20 and if you are on here and haven't sent in then shame on you,

B"£$%cks to your excuses just send the bloody wonga.

Whether you intended to or not, you have offended me. I have already sent my £20 and was suggesting that perhaps people were lazy enough not to send a cheque but enthusiastic enough to pay via an on-line method, which would involve minimal conact with the outside world. So I must now sod off bec. I had the temerity to suggest something that might be benficial to the more lethargic amongst us. I now see the a reason why Craig would want to pull the plug on all of this. Would it not have been better to politely suggest that the cheque method was decided to be the best way, rather than telling me to sod off ? As I have said, intended or not, you've cause offence. There seems to be a rash of it around here just now. Is there any reason why I should not be as offended as I am ??? Answers on a postcard pls.

Phil,

There was absolutely no intention to offend the likes of you. You come under the category of 'paid and offering help'. I was intentionally specific about those who haven't paid but who suggest that Craig / Nico could do it better.

So, yes, I hope there is reason for you not to be offended ! However, my genuine apologies that you were.

Dave

P.S. On the specific point, you may well be right that it would assist with the more lethargic. I fear we may get concerns over Paypal (there've been some problems for some members) and also that what Craig is trying to achieve is to get the 'true enthusiasts' a forum of their own. Just a view of course

Sometimes the immediacy of e-stuff makes it too easy to react quickly - maybe even too quickly. (edit - well there you go then - proved my own point redface.gif )

One of the threads which kicked this off was entitled "for the guys that ordered...." which was trundling along merrily until someone who hadn't ordered lit a blue touch paper.

Hairsy's comment started "for those of you who haven't paid..." so clearly not aimed at people like you who have paid.

(BTW there was a few months ago some very bad experiences with on line payments and forum members have lost money - so I guess this is probably not on the top of people's agendas right now)

He's right - can't we just chill out a tad before loading up the big guns?

(General comment not aimed at PhilD at all)

If someone invites you to play for free in their sandpit, it is not polite to crap all over it and then throw it at visitors. Only disturbed chimps do that.

Ommmmmmmmm

Phil, it's because some people on here are generally offensive first! People do not read what people write nor do they read what they write. It is too easy to reply in anger, annoyance or desperation on here, which is why so many of us write stuff which has such crap spelling. We shoudl all read what we write before submitting it and think how we would feel if someone said it to you before you say it to some one else. And Phil don't take it too personally he offended me too as I not only have sent my £20 cheque but also suggested other alternative payment methods, was just trying to be helpful. Obviously not a wise thing to do round here.

So what do you do??? Start friggin argueing ON THAT VERY THREAD. If I've caused offence, maybe its a good thing, how offended do you think craig and nico are???

The honourable gentleman accepts that no offence was intended.

Well if people want this forum busted then just keep going as you are. A lot of people have given up posting on here coz its more of a personal space for people to whinge at each other. WE DON'T CARE' what you think of other people - GET IT? We are 300zx enthusiasts - we dont want to see your rantings about what x did to y - Its boody pointless. My only hope is that when this all goes to the wall - a small group of people who want to talk 300's still manage to find somewhere to go and rebuild a nice club again - Just how it all started. AND I MEAN TALK 300's! Not the bloody drivel thats on here - bloody disgrace of a forum this is. Sorry Nico and Craig - no offence towards what you have provided - its just being badly abused.

This is the first post in ages from me coz everyimte I log in its the same garbage all the time.

I can afford the 20 pounds but not until the 15th.....so please don't mouth off about all the LAME excuses on here.......

Not needed.......

I budgeted my money last month (5 weeks) so I could get the legal things done on my Z....so what am I supposed to do, send craig 20 squids and get arrested for having no tax?

I think not, I could send a post dated check but that's no use to anyone, so I will pay criag on the 15th.....as I promised.

Now if I had come on saying, sorry criag I can't pay you yet as I have been on a 4 week piss up then feel free to call my excuses lame.......but until then, don't.

Matty.

I have only posted a couple of times through Robs name, I have met some of you at the last two midlands meets, everyone was really happy and getting along so well.

Please Nico & Craig don't let this forum go, it is a great source of information and help to many a Z owner old or young.

People will allways disagree, thats the nature of humans. But let them agree to disagree and not slag each other off, to the point of all out war.

I personally do not like to fight or argue with anyone, I enjoy playing them up a little, but if you want someone to bite them in the ass, then just say the word.

I have a new riding crop that needs breaking in.

[This message has been edited by Gio (edited 11-07-2002).]

I haven't sent my cheque yet for one simple reason - and if you want to think it's a sad excuse then fair enough.

I can't find my cheque book and I have more important things to do with my under-staffed business than sorting it out!

You can have the cash tomorrow if there's another way of paying. PayPal is fine by me and can be set up to pay into a bank account via Switch or to a Credit Card.

In the meantime I'll continue to search for the cheque book...

I might have something you could use to host the site - depends on the technical requirements but I have a Sun Cobalt Qube 2 sat gathering dust that just needs a new power supply.

http://www.sun.com/hardware/serverappliances/qube3/index.html

This is the newer version 3 model but there's not much difference apart from the disk space and that could probably be upgraded.

Any good? and can someone find space to host it? It's only about 6" square!

Cost me about £800 2 years ago...

For those in IT who think that it's easy to host a good quality site, you're talking rubbish, because you don't understand the dilemma of hosting and bandwidth requirements.

Hands up those that have hosted a professional site themselves! Thought so, otherwise you'd see that 20-30Gb of transfer per month is peanuts.

Does anyone have any idea how much bandwidth charges cost above the allocated data transfer rate? It could end up costing a fortune. Who would pay for THAT?

Right, on to people who think they can do a better job. Where's your evidence? Can you prove that you'd be committed to making sure that the service is always "UP" and that it's well moderated and not digging a big "legal" hole? How do you feel about stepping on the founders' toes?

Sorry, I had to say this, because I've not read such a big load of CRAP on a single thread in my life! You're in a situation where your forum could go down and you sit there taking chunks out of each other.

Truthfully? You don't deserve to have your own forum!

To the founders... Congrats to Craig and Nico. They've done a GREAT job until now, and even if they don't get the support now, they can still hold their heads up high, having given it a damn good go!
