Sorry Nick,

Yes I knew it was illegal and I am HAPPY to pay the fine. I just wanted to whinge about the fact the coppers seem to have nothing better to do!

At the end of the day a £30 fine is less than the cost of my last speeding ticket and only half the cost of a tank of petrol. I'll get over it. :D

Lucky he didn't pull me over a mile down the road where I was doing 150MPH, smoking a crack pipe while texting on the mobile... :D

There is nothing wrong with sharing any news with your mates on here and I really cant see the point in criticising you for doing so? Whinge or not if we all kept our mouths shut then what would be the point in the forum?

I have a very small front number plate and expect I will get done sooner or later and when I do I will post it up and expect the usual "you should have known better" remarks. But hey! I have wide shoulders. :D

well put!

Just as an after thought, I know they will send this info to the DVLA but does this mean if I don't change it, or if I get caught again will I have to pay a larger fine? Hmmm...

The thing that gets me is, when the cops charge you with a motoring offence you could probably fight it in court, when i got done my lawyer said i had a good case to fight and he was confident i would win but as my wife works i'm not entitled to legal aid so he said the lawyers fee's would be a lot more than the fixed penalty they imposed so it was financially better for me to pay the fine and accept the penalty points.

yea sometimes its better to cough up and shut up in this numberplate size issue and iff like me ide rather pay £30 a couple of times a year for the pleasure of having a plate the camaras cant see to well :xxx: :) plus get on the wrong side of them traffic cops with cocky jargon and the hole could well get deeper

Sorry mate,

But the same old posts come up every couple of months, and the same old people wingr about being hard done by by the police, and how it funds theyre christmas parties blah blah blah :o

It gets very boring after a while, and as many of you know, im a copper. And i have got other things to do, like dealing with people who cant control there kids, and nicking the smack head thiefs, robbers burglers rapists and paedophiles, oh and never mind the people who are intent on driving with no licence and insurance who put up our premiums.

But unfortunatly the public winge about people having small number plates and other minor misdemeaners to their local MP, who then get in touch with the local Commander, who says that if we dont stick people on, we get put on "development plans". And if we dont meet this "development plans" we get the sack. So if you would be so kind to tell me, when were all sacked for not dealing with the minor issues, who exactly will you call or come running to when you get a smack round the chops in the pub, or your kids get run down by some nobber with no licence or insurance???

Dont forget, by winging at the police, all your doing is shooting the messanger. We dont make the rules, we just enforce them.

Rant over......... for the time being!

Keep up the hard work Nick. I have the utmost respect for the services. It's a tough old world out there. Lots to do out they and at the end of the day, they are doing their job.

I am expecting to get stopped for my front plate. Suprised I haven't to be honest. Been on there over 2 years now.

Much appriciated fella!

At least some one can the common sence to see we got a job to do. I accept the some people dont like the police, and tbh i couldnt care less, but when you come on a forum with apparently like minded people after a day of dealing with the oxygen theifs of this country, abd yet still manage to give such closed minded remarks as "its to fund there xmas party" and " havent they got anything better to do", it tends to get my back up a touch :headvswal

How do people with no license and no insurance put up our premiums? If someone with no insurance hits you you don't get paid so I don't see how that affects it?

you do because the insurance has the obligation to pay out if its a non fault claim. they then have to recover its costs from the motor insurance bureau. this is the main insurance body and if they up the charges then the insurers up there charges.

Oh and according to your sig - Location: richmond to hook in 16m47sec

Going off mapquest thats an average speed of OVER 120mph so you're above the law? ;)

Never happens like that though does it - "Sorry sir the other party wasn't insured....BLAH..... we aint paying..."

Furry muff but you were lucky!

We dont make the rules, we just enforce them.

Yeah it makes a load of difference when you arrest someone for not having insurance , no mot, no tax and no licence.. like he gives a fook when he recieves a ban for something he didn't have in the first place... Oh and a measly fine which he can't pay cos he's a smackhead or unemployed..

I don't envy you your job.

I appreciate all of that Nick, you've got a job to do and you're fed up with hearing the same mindless whinging.

The copper who pulled me over was actually a really nice guy who used to own a 420bhp cosworth so he understood the situation. In fact he was almost apologetic about giving me the fine!

:D

aha the good old "Nuremburg Defense" ;)

that was a joke btw

I would rather be out here getting mortars thrown at me than do your job m8

but it still sucks :p

I never said that, infact i have said all along, if i get caught, its because what ive done is illegal, end of! (of course no one else has ever sped before have they! :nelson: )

Unfortunatly not, that particular run was picking up a lady who lived in hook, and bringing her to her son who was on his death bed after being hit by an uninsured driver!

Blue lights make speeds like that possible my friend :

Mate i couldnt agree more. I hate the fact that i spend hours upon hours putting these people in front of a court, for THE COURT to give them a light penalty that wont make the slightest difference.

Any copper will tell you that, we do all the hard work and graft, only for it to be undone by a magistrate or judge because of a)theres no prison space or b) they dont have the balls to hand out a significant penalty! :headvswal

That is by far the most annoying thing about my job! :mac1:

However you all know the pitfalls so if you take the gamble and lose, just bite your lip and pay up.

Too much whinging on here about someone for something that is your own fault.
