the zed needs a new clutch so i thought id change the flywheel while im there to get it out of the way...

as they are so highly spoken of i was always set that i would buy the rps street clutch with the rps flywheel...

however, whilst browsing the z1 webby for other clutch and flywheels i noticed this z1 clutch and flywheel combo. it claims to be better than its rps rival whilst maintaining a lighter pedal and its cheaper.

my question is, does any1 have any experience with these clutch/flywheels and can any1 offer any advice as to whether they really are a 'better buy' all round than the rps versions. fair enough the are cheaper and supposedly better but will a downside to this mean that it doesnt last as long etc... any advice welcomed.

cheerZ peeps...

Can't comment on Z1's clutch as in link as i know no one with it, only thing i will say is the blurb about it being an even softer feel than the RPS sport has gotta be *****cks, simply because the sport is exactly same feel as stock! when new you might possibly feel a very tiny bit of heaviness but other than that, its's as light as they come :)

If you went for the RPS sport and say a JWT Flywheel, cost would work out around the same delivered as the kit your looking at.

cheers

I went for the RPS Max Street and RPS flywheel if memory serves, and the pedal feel was perfect for me.. I can't compare to the stock clutch, as I'd never actually driven a stock manual - but there's no way I'd call the RPS heavy.

cheerz for the advice chaps... iv gone for the rps clutch and flywheel :)

How much is fitting on both items?

It cost me £100 with my mechanic

lighter flywheel makes some differance dont expect miracles but feels a bit more engaged and racy.

rps clutches and flywheels are spot on, as smithy said the jun fly is half the weight of a stock one, and for the money aint bad. The rps sport is a perfect clutch for a tuned 300zx up to the 450 mark and pedal feel is still light, if you want a slightly heavy feel then the max is the best choice. T

The only thing i can say about this set up besides how excellent it is.....is why do they make the flywheel so pretty? it is a shame to hide it behind the bell housing!
