I'd go for the 850. More modern car. The 9000s underpinnings are really old. Whilst the 850 is similar-ish to the old 940, the actual car, at the time, was a totally new design.

i prefer the 850 but also dont mind the saab, both flippin tanks like!

nice and safe for winter driving while the z undergoes some nice changes ready for summer!

You thought about the S40? I had a look at getting one of those.

Over budget? You can get them for £500

nothing near by though for that price.
