Trimming my interior over the winter, but one question, do I retain the door pillar belts, or convert to B pillar belts?

I want to unplug them too and get rid of the silly electronic slack thing as it messes up the recoil sometimes.

Thing is, I kind like the door pillar belts as they look funky. It's why there's a pillar there, or rather gives a designed reason to have them there. BUT, I also want seatbelts to feel like new rather than aged belts which have all the slackness of an old woman's fanjita.

Can't decide what to do really. I know replacement new belts will cost a bomb, especially for the door belts I'd imagine.

I kinda like the lap belts in the rear, so may well keep those. I never have any passengers in the back of the car anyway.

You will need to have a nut & plate welded it for the top part of the belt, as it will be missing on yours.

I converted mine....kind of...I ditched the belts on doors and was going to move to pillars, but in the end I just remove entirely as car has harnesses.

Yours is a 94 isnt it Si? I didnt realize they had the door belts so late in the J specs, mine dosent on a 95.

Si's is a 91.

They moved to the pillars in late 92 for japs.

In my Jap N/A, I've sometimes tried to open the door with my seatbelt on, and nearly pulled myself out of the car ..LOL ..Which is quite annoying, and causes on-looker's much hilarity :p

No such trouble in my UK TT.

Having said that, I think the seatbelts look well cool fitted to the doors, and a bit run of the mill fitted to the B pillar.

No it isn't why they're there. The door pilar is there so your door window doesn't flop around, especially on a targa top. + Door mounted belt are a pain in the arse and look sh1te.

The number of times I've pulled up at home or at mates houses and because its a habbit from having turboed cars, I always sit and let the car cool down a minute before switching off and they've opened the door before I've unbuckled. Firing my left testical into my left shoe.

Get them changed

You're missing my point Mark. They look like they have a reason to be there because they have a door pillar fixing. NSX lives without door pillars and so do a lot/all of cars with T-Tops.

Think I'll just leave them then, can't be bothered to weld things to it. Might just bite the bullet and get some new belts.

I don't like the door belts, they look out of place just stuck there.

Get the later ones Si they feel better as well.
