well i have just come back from a nice meal out with my mum!

through the front door to find a letter...

"Nick, this boy has just bumped your car, he left his name and number"

charged down the hill to where the car was parked to find glass all over the road and my sidelight and indicator fooked, headlight washer jet smashed and the bumper scuffed :(

i know it could have been worse but im still a little bit pissed off :smash:

his car is a rover 100 which crumpled in the collision!

now the main question is...

do i go down the insurance route or do i offer cash alternative?!

im not really to bothered about the bumper as i collect a 99spec one next weekend! so the money would be more benificial to me. just have to see what he wants i guess.

anyway the little cnut wont answer his phone at moment...just as well my nice neighbour rushed out and got his reg number just in case he tried a fly one!

:smash: :smash: :smash: :smash:

dont go through insurance, it will be wrote off, although you will get a bit more cash and get the buy back te car, but it will be classed as a write off

got his details, well reg no so if he has no insurance it will be the job for the boys with bats!!

my neighbour knows him roughly so sure i could erm...find him! lol

it couldnt be wrote off! no damage apart from a scatch and broken lights!

surely not write off able!

you would think that, but some insurance approved repairers charge sh1t loads to fix even a scratch or a scuff..and just imagine how much nissan uk charge for brand new lights etc

he would prefer to go down the cash in hand route - suits me fine!

that money will pay for 99spec bumper to get resprayed!

seemed a decent chap on the phone, says i may have to wait a couple of weeks for the money but not that bothered aslong as i know im going to get it!

your lucky. lol. the little shyte that ran into mine took off and is now being dealt with by the solicitors. insurance estimated £850 damage and could take up to 50 weeks. what makes it worse is the fact that they never stopped, never reported it, yet the police arent going to do fook all about it, to$$ers. at least i know where the culprit lives :D

new update after getting some quotes

new bumper (coud do without really)

new side lights (could do without)

new bumper bar (this is fooked so need new)

also more worrying...

seemed to be running very hot on the way home from work.

what could the bumper bar of hit behind that could effect the engine in this way?

it the space of 8 miles it was red hot in engine bay and the bonnet support thing wa hot to hold :(

could really do with some help now!!

could have damaged a coolant hose or pipe, have you checked for any leaks or squashed hoses etc

will check in the morning. just hoping for nothing serious.

couldnt see any signs of leaking but will have a better look in the light tomorrow.
