As said above they came out of the factory like that mate any that are not grey have been painted.

 

Lets face it stones love the front of the zed so lots of people had them colour coded when they had the front blown in :)

i thought some had them, some didnt. so all zeds came with that strip

The early 89 to 94 model zeds had the strip a grey colour and then nissan made the strip the same colour as the car colour which improved the look somewhat. When my 89 model was imported the strip was grey like the photo and then when i got hit in a accident and the insurance company replaced my front bar the panel beaters painted the center strip to match the car colour.

 

At first i was gonna complain but then i posted on the forums and found out it was a update to the front bar from the 94 models onwould.

Just to add all uk cars came with the grey bit standard. There was no colour coding by nissan for uk cars they were all grey. :)

iv got to say iv never noticed it before, maybe because my car is grey but mine looks colour coordinated... and iv just noticed that my number plate isnt central either lol, thats going to really really bug me now
