Heard it a few times now, a very faint beeping sound at high speed, definately a digital sound and now the "car" making the noise.

Car is 1992 N/A Jap Import.

Thoughts?

J-spec cars have a "beeper" that sounds off when you exceed 100 km/h (62.5 mph).

But if you have had the speedo converted to MPH, the ECU MAY thinks it is still in km/h so it would beep at 100mph. If this happens then you must get the conversion done properly - the HICAS and power steering will also be affected, as the car think it is travelling slower than it really is.

Richard :)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

What kind of noise?

The beeping, i have heard he lights on warning sound indicator sound sometimes when driving at higher speeds

Nope not the lights on warning as ?Richard says speed warning chime, it can be disabled, by cutting one of the green wires behind the clocks, 2 min job. there's a write up about it, do a serch.

Nice one. I've had this speed alarm driving me nuts on my 2nd SWB NA, but it kicks in at 75mph. The car has got Original Jap clocks with KPH inside and MPH outside so never converted. My other SWB has been converted and the power steering is so light at speed it has no feel, but it don't bing bing all the time.

How do i get the power steering sorted. Someone said UK clocks would sort it??

Mine doesnt beep at speeds, and the steering has plenty of feel at speed, has a chipped ecu and UK clocks (i think!)

boost in psi, and oil pressure in kg/cm3 speedo with mph aorund the outside and kph in the inside
