155 mph (limited) 0-60 5.5 secs and 276bhp all nissan claimed brochure figures. Although i think the bhp was actually closer to 300 bhp but nissan claimed less due to some jap law. But i could be wrong

No way will they do 196 (manual) and 204 (auto). 212mph is Diablo league and the 300ZX is no way near that I'm afraid.

I think that you can safely say that a decent 300zx TT will do 170 MPH. With a bit of messing and tuning and you looking at about 180 MPH MAX. But if you have the nuts to regularly do that kinda speed in a 15-17 year old car you got more balls than me. On a private road somewhere else than here I had mine up to 285 KPH at 6000 revs. I then decided that would do and I dont ever expect to visit that road again. :cool:

 

Its all about acceleration and looking good as far as I am concerned.

I had mine up to 170 mph on the clock the other day and it felt like it wanted to keep going but i ran out of road! Not sure how accurate it is though.( on a track of course )

finding a road near me is no prob there no speed cams and the police cant be botherd even when they stop you....unless you start acking the ar$e in towns.other wise fine...just thought 160 odd was a bit well much but it seems its not far away...... :xxx:

It depends on the colour white struggles at 145, black can hit 150, grey is about 155 so is blue, but red can do 725mph, and red autos 750!!!

was just trying to find the true proper top speed when they were new...compeard to now years on the differance age takes it tole but by how much......to the cars..and no it dosnt mater just intrested thats all.......sorry about the spelling folks....

186mph(300+kph.ish) front facing photo,, and jay went pass him and hit a little over 200mph ....just ask the boy's who went on the Zrun06 .... :tongue:

Has mine up to 149 on the sat nav. Was reading about 160 on the clock. That was pretty much flat out but I am running a lot of wing on the back.

Dont know about the car yet,but.

My bike was reading 220mph+ off the clock at woodbridge airfield........a little less was recorded by the lights. Try 193mph :( :wack: . smallest error in speedo is massive at top end.

Most old'ns lknow my story (205 MPH) from way back in the good ol days of 2005 :p

 

But why is it so hard to believe a car of this calibre with a bit of hootin and tootin cant do 200 MPH. I bet a pound on a penny that Macca's will do 200. I might be wrong but I just bet it will. Some of you sound like those in the pre 20th centry " if you go over 50 MPH your skin will come off" :rofl:

In answer to that Si. I have a photo (no photoshopping) of my speedo and rev clock and at 290 KPH the rev clock is showing a needles width over the 6000 rev mark. OK speedo error and all that but hey when you are going fast you just dont have time to use a calculator. Now with a car that has no limiter on it the revs should go all the way so work it out thats 180 MPH more or less at 6 K revs. 190 at 7 K revs ???? that aint far off the blessed 200 MPH and my car aint the fastest or most powerful. So I think the rev limit would allow it. On the right car.. :cool:

Actually, I missed a constant off of that too...'power'!!

 

Not saying it isn't possible, but as far as 'stock' goes, 200mph is way off the mark.

Autocar recorded at top speed of 158mph at 6150rpm, with a mean speed in two directions of 155mph in the original limited test car.

300ZX TT Road Test performance figures

 

So if you could take the car up to the 7200 revs that it achieved in the lower gears, then the manual car @ 25.7mph per 1k revs in top, would do about 185mph using stock size wheels and tyres.
