Hi People,

Does Anyone Know The Correct Rw Bhp For A Standard 1991 300zx Z32 Tt?

I Have Been Told It Is 280 At The Wheel, But Some People Say That It Is 280 The Flywheel, Thus Being About 220 At The Wheel.

funny thing this 280 at the crank, by 8.00pm and 4 pints of larger it goes up to 325 and by 11.30 its 450 then iff the same car goes on ebay it normally sits around 475-500bhp :D

Your Right Mate, Have Seen Some On E-bay Today Saying 330bhp+ For A Standard Tt????

isn´t it 286 for the European TT manual and 300 for the US TT manual and a bit less for both automatics..something like that.

Apart fromUK manuals are actually 280 and UK autos are 268bhp, jap autos are 280 and jap manuals are 300

All at the fly.

Dont know about US models, at the very most 280 on the auto and manual

*gestures* to the US TT manual in the barn ....yep..US has 300 at the wheel ....manual version that is *grin*

the us version did not have 300 at the wheel, Manuals had 300 at the fly, and autos 280.

My bad

I got 283.5 @ the fly couple of weekends ago (Jap TT Manual and standard :) )

Thats pretty good! theres hope for zeds yet!

to have not even lost 20bhp in 15 years!

graphs...

check out my graphs from a broken rolling road lol

About 15 of us from my local car club went down to a new rolling road that had just been installed a few weeks ago at a local place. Sadly we had problems, 4wd just were not working properly and rear wheel drive was giving some "interesting" results... like 3560bhp @2500rpm from my mates 200sx!!

Mine made 581bhp haha..

581.jpg

Although i must add i manually calculated 330bhp (hence the random lines) but it will be wrong... the Dyno was a little bit buggered that day

We are all booked in for when they've fitted the missing parts (thats right i did say MISSING!) that make it work properly!

230'ish wheel output for Manual TT

Standard FwBHP is 280-300 depending on what day of the week it is

ok. my mistake,,sort of ...300 at the Fly WHEEL ..not at the rear Wheels :)

BIG difference.....

yeah Quavey..I know...but i did actually mean at the fly wheel as opposed to the rear wheels...honestly,,,could these eyes lie ? *g*

UK Auto's 268??? HMMMMMMMM that doesn't make my 262fwhp figure to far out, but im still only at 7PSI

You lot sure 7 psi on a uk auto's safety boost????????

If not then ive got no probe, boost controller and chip here i come!!

To be honest mate it was bang on...

This is taken from the January 1992 update to the british market section

"With an 8.5:1 compression raito official engine output was 278bhp at 6400rpm (although this dropped to 263bhp at the same engine speed with the automatic gearbox) Peak torque was 272lbft at 3600rpm (or 269lbft at 3200rpm for the automatic transmission). This was enough to power the 300zx to a governed top speed of 155mph (248kph) with either gearbox, although, naturally the 0-60 time was different: 5.9 seconds for the manual and 7.5 seconds for the automatic."

9.5psi is standard. tbh with 7psi and your 0-60 attempts in the 7's I'd say the dyno figure was probably wrong...what did it say for the wheel output ?

Us Twin Turbos Have 300 Horsepowered Engines.

That's A Fact Jack!

here it comes again....here come the myth train

lol

Jap----280fwhp

uk-----300fwhp

ebay---500fwhp

Pub----550fwhp

PMSFL!! How true!

Ah - yeah, but it's a different HP isn't it? SAE as opposed to DIN - i.e. my old 260z was stamped at 163 HP SAE, but actually had 150 BHP DIN... Actually, more like 30 the state she was in - but you get the point ;).

Therefore, I'm guessing they're all around 276-280.

well mine has more than that on a relatively standard engine and standard boost, check my sig, and ive had it on the rollers twice at different places and was only a few BHP difference between both

Whos jack?

They had 300bhp with the manual, but 280bhp with the auto.... and 222bhp for your NA.

That was the 1990 MY. and it didnt apear to change throughout the life of the car in the states.

As for it being DIN or SAE, its listed as bhp in here (but i do have a list of a UK twin turbo at 278ps)

But lets be honest, its a minor difference. Just interesting to know the full story.

I was under the impression when i first got mine that they were all 300bhp lol (Shows how much research i did before diving in at the deep end!)
