I am very aware that Thoresby is also on sunday and starts at 10.30, My worry is that members will find it a hastle to go to ferrybridge first, and just go straight to Thoresby......

youve got 41 names down and your considering cancelling...
Just because members have there names down mate, does not mean that they will actually turn up. My point is, Ferrybridge is at 11am, and Thoresby is at 10.30am.

i dont think thats a bad idea kim. i for one will go straight to thorebsy. for anyone thats coming from the south, it will add around 2 hours to their journey. this is my opinion though, not sure what others will think. suppose its fine as meeting place for the members coming from the north side.

sod that this has been arranged for months now, and its 2 days before now.

Sorry i dont want sound off but its too late in the day, no it shouldnt be cancelled, you will have folk who have not logged on finding that there is no one there because they never knew Ferrybridge had been cancelled.

Dont get me wrong Saz, I want it to go ahead, I will be annoyed if about 10 people out of 41 turn up though. :headvswal

I reckon it's a bit late in the day to cancel this, I've already arranged to visit the Mother-in-law in Teeside, so I'm travelling up whatever, but if cancelled I'll have to risk her Sunday Roast :( !!

Fully understand the reasoning, but there are several names on the list that would be travelling along way - if, as you say, they still plan to attend.

Cheers for the heads-up,

Steve

to be honest that could happen regardless of Thoresby being on, to me i would go to Ferrybridge or Thoresby but can not do both, im just thinking what uproar there will be if folk do turn up for no one to be there. No doubt if it wasnt cancelled they wont all turn up and if it is cancelled they all will turn up, sods law lol!!

its what you make it Mr Vinz lol!!

just keep it on, let those travelling from the North get a meet at Ferrybridge, then those that want to travel down to Thoresby from there can, those travelling from South can go straight to Thoresby if they do not want the extra diatance.

It might not attract as many people as on the original list but we knew Thoresby was on and imho its not fair on those that have made arrangements to attend Ferrybridge for it to be cancelled at the last minute

I may not go to any car related events but this weekend is.

Thorsby - Ferrybridge - Tatton Park - also a jap car meet at haigh hall in wigan.

how about making the ferrybridge meet a bit earlier

say 9 oclock, then plenty of time to drive down to thoresby

to be honest, by the time you have all met up at 11oclock, got everyone together, had a natter, then go down to thoresby,

it will probably be finished by the time you get there

personaly, i would like to be down at thoresby by 11 oclock

I was really up for the Ferrybridge meet as last years was a great luagh but now Thoresby has been sorted for the same date and it,s only 20 minutes away it just makes sense to go straight there , still be great to meet up with everyone who comes to the show

I'm not going to either so I don't really care......

But Sarah's opinion is both valid and fair - keep it on!

There you have it - a totally unbiased opinion

Richard :)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

It's probably safe to say I will be driving farther than anyone (210 miles), Thorsby is abobout 170 miles so continuing to Ferrybridge is no big deal...

Don't cancel it. If only for the fact that 2 events were cancelled last week.

I know how you are feeling, I cancelled mine last week, but you have done all you can do. If only 10 people turn up so be it. As an insentive I can offer you the trophies I had done for my show to give out to the cars that do turn up. It says offley show on them but that won't matter.

I tried PM'ing the people that said they would come to see how many I would get. You could try doing that as well but personally I think it is a bit late now.

Good luck with it. I might even turn up myself yet but can't commit either way.
