Ok, i bought my 300zx, from mrsimonto (from here), knowing that it needed some work done to it. And i was happy with the things he had told me about!

 

i just went outside just now to fit my 300zx.co.uk stickers and have a look under the bonnet to see which hoses i was going to replace with silicone.

 

Well, i was looking in the top drivers side corner and when i nudged my alarm unit, the whole thing started to roll down the wing!!!!! This made me wonder what else had been tampered with! So i started to look around all the electrical connections and found one or two that were linked to nothing!!!

 

So what i'm needing to know now is.......since i'm looking to get me engine rebuilt......i was wondering if there is anywhere that would rewire it? Would Ztech or somewhere like that be able to help????

There quite a few electrical connectors around the engine bay - and the rest of the car for that matter - on my "girl" which aren't "attached" to anything. I believe some of them are for the computer diagnostic etc. and others for bits which just aren't fitted to my model. I'm sure someone else will explain better than me!!

Doesn't help you with the alarm issues, but may ease some of your other concerns.

IIRC not all connectors are connected if you get my drift...like if the air con has been removed..or cruise control ect...that said i'm sure there is a couple of others connected to nothing as well under my hood

 

look on here and see if you can locate the connectors you're talking about

Get someone to have a look if you can - if you've got a boost controller, there'll be a couple undone for a start... run a diagnostic and see what faults come up.
