I`ve been thinking of what to get myself to celebrate getting my divorce(when it eventualy comes thru :mac1: )

I really fancy a new bike and I`ve had my eye on the Aprillia RSVR Factory for a couple of years now.

Have any of the bikers out there ridden one before - what did you think of it?

Looks good, Thats all I know :)

I want to find time to do lessons/test for a bike.

Does it take many lessons for somone who can already drive a car ? I mean that basic principle has to be the same, and atleast you dont have to reverse park etc :)

there is a whole world of difference between them but if you really want to try it then go for it

Miracle, just bought this on flea bay

£3200 with 2790 miles on the clock. Should have it home in the next two days, but I've had a 996 Duke, a 955 triple and various other stuff V twins sound awsome and pull your arms out. I just bought this because it was a bargin and the fairing on this model, to the new one is alot bigger and I'm not small.

this is my dream bike and if you get one ill be green with envy.....i have an SP2 and a R6 and to be honest i love the torque of the v twin so much more . not as quick as other 1000cc such as r1 0r gsxr and most people seem to prefer these, but you cannot beat the sound of a v twin and as ACTDAFT says it will rip your arms off. for me the new aprilia is the best bike out there, reliable enough, stunning looks , superb sound and you dont see that many around. services can be a bit more exspensive than a normal four but not to bad. go for it bud you lucky git .......

For many years I wanted a Ducati or Aprillia, earlier this year I took both out and was disappointed, the ride is completely different to a 4 cylinder, the best way to describe it for me is that they didnt feel so mental, engine noise maybe?? Anyway if your use to a 4 cyl try one before you buy, they win in the looks department for sure.

Ditto that bud. I like 4 cyl better than the on off switch of a twin. I just think my GSXR was much smoother and good for track days. I think my next bike will be an R1..... :duffer:

Thanks for the comments and warnings guys and I think a long test ride would definatly be in order.

I have found more recently that I have been shortshifting because I cant be bothered with the bike screaming its nuts off all the time and I love the sound of a v-twin and the looks of the RSVR.

a couple of the guys are right in that normal fours are more fun and feel faster probably because of the engine noise but as you said your up and down the gears so much. a v twin is a totally different machine and makes you lazy because of the torque. you just dont need to change up and down. they are an acquired taste so a test ride is a must. v twins for me tho........

Well mines here and its stunning. Akrapovic cans and it shakes the whole house when you give it some. Ive had a quick run out and it handles a dream, pulls better than the Duke and goes like stink. Had it up to very quick and still plenty to go. In the last three years ive had ZX6R, 996, CCM604, R1, ZX9R, 955 triple, GSXR750 SRAD, 1150 7/11 streetfighter and two others that were embarassing. This thing pulls and pulls better then any inline four and corners only second best to the Duke. Go get one and reak havock.
