maybe it longs to be a diesel :D

If you've just changed the PCV valves then it's your turbo seals by the sounds of it.

White smoke could just be condensation build up, blue/grey smoke is usually tubs!

update, short run, no smoKe, on idling either. shorter run home bit of blue smoKe as i pulled up, so.........i revved it consistantly at quite low revs till the smoKe went, then i left it to idle, i thunK "if i let it idle the pressure on the seals will drop thus pushing oil into the exit forcing smoKe out of the zorsts, therefore it must be the turbo"........left it 6 mins and couldnt get no smoKe out of it at all!!! would it deffo have smoKed if the seals had gone under circumstances thus?

i have 2 quite big holes on both of my front pipes and a cam seal leaK, could that be running into my exhaust causing a bit of oil burn off?

on my other computer my k key is knackkered and only workss with shift pushed down!!!

royal, long shot i know but couldnt the oil be running into the holes in the seams on bothe my front pipes and burning off in the exhaust?

anyone know if i would deffo get blue smoke after 6 mins idle if the turbo seals had gone??

Forgot to say when you have oil burning in your exhaust system it permeates the system and when the exhaust heats up you get the smoke reappearing, this can be because it has just leached into the exhaust and is burning off!

ta for the relies guys, how can i find out if my turbos are broK??

oh, and why would the pcvs solve the problem but only for 25oo miles??

topless, so it could in theory be oil leaKing in from anywhere, i will checK where the oil is dripping from under my engine and hope its running into the holes on the top seam of my front pipes.

No the carbon in the exhaust absorbs the oil from the previous leak, then as it heats up it smokes like it did previously, there is no way an external oil leak in the engine bay will cause smoke to come out the exhausts at the rear!

can a bust turbo seal produce smoKe under the bonnet?

if ya cant get to the bottom of it nip it down to my house on Saturday if you can, can have a look at it.

nice one, im worKing but ill give andy a ring. ta!!

btw, could a leaKing turbo cause smoKe in the engine bay??

btw, could a leaKing turbo cause smoKe in the engine bay??

A leaking oil feed pipe to the turbo could. And a leaking rocker cover, oil running onto the manifold. If your getting blue smoke from the exhaust it could even be valve stem seals or worn piston rings/bore.

not sure what all that means but i appreciate it, could anyone show me where the rocKer cover is as i have oil around the bacK of the engine. the smoKe comes out of the exhaust at EXACTLY the same time as i get some smoKe from the bacK of the engine, it is not always the same side and i have just left it for 9 mins after a 20 mile run and no smoKe from anywhere. what do all you boffins thinK??

btw, ta for the advice guys i REALLY appreciate it.

btw i have holes in the top of both my front pipes.

Rocker covers (valve covers) 2 each side are under the plenum, you cant really get a proper look at them with the plenum on im afraid. But this is what we are talking about
