Well after the other week http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=97530 I didn't change the tyres because it looks like I've sold my blue car and the guy doesn't want the wheels, which had almost new Bridgestones on and I will put on my little red.

So went out on Sunday in Little Red as it was nice and Sunny, but it started to rain on the way back. I know how shit these tyre are so I was going really steady and it just begabd to about face on a long cambered bend. I hadn't eased off, touched the brakes or anything. I was doing about 40 on a bend I would normally take at 60+ in the rain with my TT.

I really believe that there is something fundementally wrong with this car. I've Raced cars and Karts in the rain on slicks and you still have some control if your not going too fast, but I was just a passenger. So we twirled around a bit and then found the only tree for several hunderd yards

Pic's don't do it justice as it is well bent and I think a write off. So I'm looking for another SWB

I'll refurb i think and put srandard wheels on for Mr insurance salvage people.

Well pissed off though because the body seemed in loverly nick.

B***er! Glad you are OK yourself.

The car doesnt look that bad in the pics but I guess you know enough about them to decide its scrap!

:( Hope your ok Mark ? Sorry to see, it does'nt look that bad in pics, but Pics dont show everything, fingers crossed it in better shape than you first thought

I'm Sure it will be clased as a none Viable repare. Bonnet, upper front cross member, inner wing, outer wing, front bumper, bumper carrier, Headlamp housing, Bumper mounting plates, inner wheel arches, front under tray, Wheel repare, indicator, headlamp, Paintwork, and Labour.

I know I could get all those bits salvage, but it'll still cost me for paint worl etc. + i don't know whats damaged on the steering. So I think it will be better to let it go to the great Zed track in the sky and buy a staight car as a starting block for my project.

Thats sh*t mate, sorry to see that. Excuse the vulture manners but if you break the car have you got any plans with those wheels? they would probably look good on my Zed!

Still got to think about this, but will let you know.

 I nearly bought that one! Still, glad you're OK

OH NO ! that was a lovely little car but at least your o.k ! let me know if you want any parts or to get rid of the whole thing

Paul

main thing is you're ok. What kind of suspension did it have? I'm guessing knackered rear suspension, maybe hit a small bump and the car hops and then with the dodgy tires it just doesn't get any grip back.

i'm sure there are 2 shorty's in the for sale section at the mo ;)

Gutted for you mate, glad it was a "safe" crash in the way you wernt hurt or your family.

I love your style though, straight back in the mill looking for another one to build up from scratch.

better luck with this one fella :)

Damn Mark!! I'm glad you're ok. Cars can be repaired/replaced, but there's only one Markzx ;) :D

Cheers guys for the suport. As my lad said "That was a shit accident. I can't tell my mates I nearly died or that we were blasting alone at 100 mph. It was so slow and Oh, would have been better had that tree not been there".

+ I haven't got emotionally attached to this car as I have the blue one which has got so much of my DNA in it.

Definately suspect suspension. I have a set of Ground Control coilovers on order and no car to go on now. :headvswal

Gutted for you Mark. Just really, really glad you walked away from it unscathed matey. You're one of the good'uns on here and, aside from the good engine work you had done on your blue Z, you've had a proper run of bad luck with cars these past few years bud! Fingers crossed it's all on the up and up from now on! :)

Leigh

Know how u feel mate, bit diff in my situation tho, some t**t hit mine. Glad your ok bud

WHAT ?????

Sorry to read this Mark, know how you feel, when I hit my silver TT a couple of years ago, that was low speed, and nothing I could do!!

Well thanks guys I appreciate your coments. Its a shame and all that, but they officially wrote it off yesteday afternoon. They estimate £2800 to repair (new bits of course) so i'm off to get my srandard wheels out of Chris GetGreddy's garage even if I have to sit and wait all day.

Good news is I think I have another. I've been offered 2 different TT's and an NA It's the NA I want for my project, but if It has to be a TT then so be it. The pannel beater who is doing the original arches for me wanted the car today, so that's going to be knocked back a few weeks now, but watch this space.
