Hi

Does anybody know of a wire I can splice into that has 12v when the ignition is turned to the accessory 1 position, ie when the clock illuminates up, and keeps the 12v even whilst the engine cranks over. Everything I have found so far does not keep 12v whilst the engine cranks over.

Thanks

Colin

I would have thought that when the engine cranks over, 99% of battery power is used in actually turning the engine.

That would give the impression that a 12v live circuit (eg the clock) is not live during cranking, when in fact it is. You are probably just experiencing a power drain from all other circuits when you turn the starter.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

you could use pin 109 of the ECU (white wire).

It holds 12V when cranking and holds power for about 5 seconds after you turn the ignition off.

ideal for (boost/traction/fuel)controllers

don't use it to feed things that need a lot of power.

Thanks Lymon. That will be good to know for the future, as I don't need it for my gauges anymore, as I have been in contact with Prosport who have confirmed that they are supposed to turn off when you crank the engine. So I actually have wired them ok already, which is surprising for me!

Thanks again
