A Navy man who got mad when someone mocked him as a "nerd" over the Internet climbed into his car and drove 1,300 miles from Virginia to Texas to teach the other guy a lesson.

As he made his way toward Texas, Fire Controlman 2nd Class Petty Officer Russell Tavares posted photos online showing the welcome signs at several states' borders, as if to prove to his Internet friends that he meant business.

When he finally arrived, Tavares burned the guy's trailer down.

Investigators say Tavares boiled over when Anderson called him a nerd and posted a digitally altered photo making Tavares look like a skinny boy in high-water pants, holding a gun and a laptop under a "Revenge of the Nerds" sign.

...when he got to Elm Mott after posting one last photo of a "Welcome to Texas" sign Tavares threw a piece of gasoline-soaked plastic foam into the back of Anderson's mobile home and lit a flare, authorities say.

"Before this happened, the rule was: Nobody messes with the haunted house guy," Anderson said.

Depends how far it went really, me and stellaz had some handbags and thats all it was so i wouldnt travel to my front door for that, I think we may even have fallen in love from the experiance but it might just be one sided from him

But for mr duffers I might travel the 3hrs up to him, wont be burning anything though.

How far would you go to settle an e-feud?

About as far as my keyboard . And would probably delete it the next day when I got sober . Feuding aside , I often get up the next day and edit my inane ramblings from the night before . Hence , my posts , if examined , do contain a substantial amount of double dots

Good enough for the keyboard ninja, think I would of calmed down after 10-20miles though and got bored

fook driving up to someone.... especially 1200 miles or whatever it was ... IMAGINE THE FUEL BILL!!!!!

I'd just ignore the fooker till I got over it - being a girl though I'd never get over it :)
