absolutely not, no.

I have owned both (well a g6o corrado) and a zed and if anyone asks which i prefer the Corrado wins hands down.

Get another one then.

Each to there own and all that, everyone has a soft spot for a certain car for various reasons.

I've a fair bit of experience with the Corrado, going back a good 8/9 years ago now, when I as a teenager and we all had golfs, corrados, fiesta's, escorts.

There not bad cars for what they are, but cant see how you could favourably compare it over the zed.

I was going to say the same Dave. I've driven both the G60 and the VR6. Pretty good cars, but in a totally different league to the Z and there's no way I'd have one over a Z. They are FWD too!!! One of my friends has one and he's always shocked at how much attention the Z gets over his car. He prefer the drive too and wants one next.

yup think they a far nicer than the new ones, especially with a new set of wheels and in good condition! if i could guarantee getting one that wouldnt let me down id sswap it over the zed any day!

You do have good taste Sarah!

I love the older Porsches too - 928GT or GTS is my personal favourite. They are still holding their value as a modern classic too - much better than the new ones. I mean the Boxster, whilst it's supposed to be a decent drive is a bit gay.....

I almost bought a 928 s4 before I bought my 300zx; however the ZX seemed the better buy at the time. I don't regret buying the ZX as I preferred it as a daily drive back then..........

.......but if I saw a decent low mileage GTS in black with cream leather for decent money now then I probably would let the ZX go ;)

Richard :D

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Not driven a Corrado but I will agree with you there. Corrado may be one of the best handling FWD cars ever but you cannot compare it to a 300ZX/Supra TT/3000GT/RX7. The Corrado is more in the class of the Calibra/Cougar/Celica/200sx - not in the Junior Supercar/GT car league at all.

i beg to differ, i thought i would buy the zed above the vr6 corrado try something else, and i can not quite put my finger on it but its just lacking something the Corrado had, i dont get as bigger grin in this car. And as for turning heads i can honestly say hand on heart that the Corrado turned more heads, then again it was slammed to the deck, shiny bright red and had lovely chrome rims (before chrome became pimp my ride like)

Im not into "fast cars" though, i didnt buy the zed for power, i just thought i would try something different. If i could guarnantee getting a good vr6 i would, but nowadays they are hard to come by if not reaching top dollar!

200sx or calibra hmmmmmmm

............................. However, despite all the trumpets for German engineering, both of them required engine rebuilds... 1 for compression in the crankcase, and 1 for a broken cambelt (not it's fault really, I guess). The electrics weren't great either. Which kinda put me off old-skool porkers - despite the good looks.........................................CheerZ,

JB.

Agree with this too - German engineering is not really all it's reputation suggests.

I have a 7 year old (50k mile) SLK 230 as my daily driver and whilst it is a nice car, well built and classy in a way that BMW just cannot dream of, I still have more confidence in my 16 year old 300zx.

The SLK broke down on the last day of my hols in June and needed to be brought home by the RAC. Apparently the breather hoses became blocked and caused oil to spew into the AFM thus knackering it. One £900 bill later, combined with the 300zx NEVER letting me down, kind of helps me have the utmost faith in Japanese over-engineering.

merc amg,

agree totally, but what about the excellent Jaguar XJR superchager motoway eater. They can be picked up for £4k :)

thing is though the corrado looks like a box, only people turning around to look would be a tramp looking for a new home :D

corrado turns more heads? you were dreaming at the time clearly ;)

iv owned a corrado v6 and although it was ok it was just ok! quick and box like got bored after 2monthsm all IMO off course everyone has there own crazy perceptions :p

a box nah well i stand by my guns im not saying i dont like the zed but what i will say for what i expected from it, i actually feel a little let down, i dont trust the thing at all lol!!

The problem with Corrado's is the parts give you a nasty shock,,,,,,,, door costs nearly £700 .. front wing £400. ................no thanks

its down to quality of car, i expect you had a mint corrado and a poorly z

i had my 300zx for near on 2 years all that failed was a viscous coupling and a starter motor total cost £50 second hand parts, so lets be fair if your z had not caused you loads of problems then your attitude may be differant.

secondly this was a few years ago, these old cars will take there toll including a corrado/m3 you name it

although its a box i would love a minted mk1 golf the older ones are always the best bit like the the r32 over the r33 when weight comes in to it:D

believe me a well looked after zed feels and goes much better than even a well looked after corrado... that is to say cars with completely renewed suspension and a good condition engine... like mine was :(

the z32 and corrado are in totally different leagues, but both are great within their own class.

corrado G60 ..im with sarah on this one ...i had one .it was a fantastic car . colour was a bit naff ....but i loved it ...and they do turn heads ...........VW are you listening do another one !!!

Well lads/ladies - i've had my fair share of VR's - i've just come from a golf VR6 Highline with a VF supercharger on it (286bhp) but FWD :-(

I was quick and nothing and i mean nothing sounded as nice as it.

But i want something different again.

RX7 or Z ar the only things i have come to choose from so far

The corrado is a mk2 Golf with a coupe shell - it handles well but not got the class and shock looks that i love.

Plus 300bhp is the min i'm looking for lol

at the grand prix i saw the most amazing lotus possibly 90's hard top, pop up lights, looked rear engined, looked almost Ferrari like, ive trawled the net to find what it was but to no avail. it was laaaarvely!!

Probably an Esprit V8 Twin Turbo. A stunning car, seriously quick, seriously unreliable though.
