Silly question on a zed board :) but a Zed IMO is the best out there at that price. There are certainly alternatives: you could get a very good 200sx for that price which would be cheaper especially if you want to track it, you can also get a very nice BMW for that, I wouldn't go for an Rx7 or a skyline or a TT Supra as at that price you're likely to get a bad one. You can get as good a Zed for 4k as you would a Supra,Skyline or Rx7 for 6-7k.

Rancid peices of manatee spunk, the both of them!

I nearly bought a Paxo VTR many many moons ago when they were first launched. They are ok little cars, just the boyracer scene took them onboard too much! LOL

im looking to spend about £4k tops on my next car the options for which include several zeds around that price and cheaper. one of them is a k plate rag top

yup think they a far nicer than the new ones, especially with a new set of wheels and in good condition! if i could guarantee getting one that wouldnt let me down id sswap it over the zed any day!

yup even a mint mk1 gti golf!!

yup one of those would be cool too

mk3 golf vr6

early mk4 18 20v golf

corrado

audi coupe S2

porshe 944

300zx

scoobydoo pratstick (imprezza lol)

evo4 (wont be a good one at that price)

lots more, but cant think at the moment

Hmmmm, I had a 944s a few years before I had my first 300 (having had a 260 and a 280 prior to that), and whilst it was a very pretty car, and handled nicely, was never really that sold on the performance. I thought the 2.5 16v 190 bhp was a bit naff tbh... It doesn't measure up in any department, other than quality of tin it's built from!! :D

I also had a 924 turbo previous to that which was much more exciting, if less attractive. However, despite all the trumpets for German engineering, both of them required engine rebuilds... 1 for compression in the crankcase, and 1 for a broken cambelt (not it's fault really, I guess). The electrics weren't great either. Which kinda put me off old-skool porkers - despite the good looks.

Traded the 944 in for a lovely S14 - never missed a beat in 2 years of cracking ownership. Been sold on Jap Sports Cars ever since. To date, the worst issue I've had with a 300 (and I'm about to pick up my 5th) is PTU trouble. Touch Wood!

In answer to the question posed, however, it's certainly my Z at a shade over 4k... : Click here for my Z for sale thread :hyper: I need the space before new Z turns up and I guess I'll have to resort to flea-bay/autoturder. :(

CheerZ,

JB.

GOD FORBID HOW COULD I FORGET CORRADO VR6!!

beat the zed any day maybe not in performance but what a drive they are!

absolutely not, no.

I have owned both (well a g6o corrado) and a zed and if anyone asks which i prefer the Corrado wins hands down.

Sappire Cossie in moonstone with Morette quad head light conversion, big exhaust and light rust. ;)

They fookin fly, they do. Quicker than a 3 litre Capri and everything.

I can see FunkiSi getting one after his Zed.
