The guy who's bought the zed has just come up to look at the car.

 

He's now quibbling about the fact the aircon doesn't work (it's missing the condenser and the belts which is why it was never included on the spec list and he assumed it was working)

 

He's also worried the colour is going to be hard to match and he'll ring me monday after he's spoken to his bodywork man, it says in the listing that the colour is a one off so that's his fault.

 

You don't buy a car off ebay to look at it then decide if you want it, you buy it because you're contracted to buy it. :slap:

Come monday i've been mr nice guy to him and it's then going to be time to turn to my businessman persona and get that money off him :mac1:

Any other car i've had has gone for what was asked and they've picked it up without any quibble that's what's annoying.

 

He had no negative feedback either otherwise i wouldn't have sold it to him

He had no right to walk away unless the item isnt as described which it was.

 

The viewings are meant to be before the sale so its his old stupid fault by buying it first.

same anywhere ebay especially (timewasters) normally impulse buyers, then when it comes to the crunch they think ooooops i wish i never bid on it! not meaning your car but cars in general!

 

iv always used autotrader sold all my cars there, and that way you see what you get no contract no arguments no hassle and more serious buyers are present.

although its a contract no one takes it serious its not like court action is going to take place (General cencus) i think your add was spot on personally if the fool read it properly then no problem, tell the ****er to buy some glasses.

Well he's a car dealer and unless he wants his reputation tarnished with negative feedback then i think he'll definately be buying it.

 

I'm not being funny, yes the v5 wasn't present and i've got a new copy now but that was the only thing that wasn't right with the car.

 

I've spent 180 quid getting the car motworthy and put 12 months ticket on it

it always happens mate. they come along trying to squeeze more money off the final price. i cant remember your ad now, but im sure it said something like 'you are bidding to buy' - as in if you win, you WIN. of course tell him he's quite welcome to pay £2k just to look at it ;)

in the end, as long as the item is as reasonably described as possible, and he's the winning bidder, then it's his. if he messes you about, simply leave him negative and relist. PITA i know but i cant stand these :xxx:

As you said Nick it doesn't mention air-con and you've clearly stated it has 'one-off' paint. He has no arguement and should of viewed the car first if he was unsure of anything. You've been very honest in your ad and don't budge on the price if he trys it on. Best of luck fella

Then he had £200 in cash as well which he promtly handed over, did the deal and off he went.

 

I did remind him, he wasn't viewing as I had sent extra pictures, answered all questions he had, etc... and his bid was final and no discounts!

 

No extra time either to make mind up, I'd tell him to sling it and go with a second chance...

Maybe you should have advised of 'aircon removed' rather than not mention it. It's a standard feature and as such, maybe he assumed it was all there.

ime watching another car at the moment (not zed) with no reserve, its currently grossly under bid with not long to go and i just hope the seller dont "bottle" it and withdraw with a fabricated excuse :nono: ive emailed him and hes assured me he,ll sell at the bid price so heres hoping ;)

its the game Nick ime affraid good or bad and the lesson ive learnt with this ebay shite is never think its yours till you,ve got ten fingers around it and never borrow on the strenghth of a sale till its down the road,its a place where i dont trust anyone and i hope this w****er coughs up mate as per click of the keys

If you know a car has something as standard OEM fitment then why would you not assume it is NOT there if not mentioned...?

I never assume aircon is working in any car unless they say something along the lines of "air con is icy cold"

 

It's 16 years old at the end of the day and a targa top too so i've never had need for it.

 

Ah well worst comes to the worst i have to relist AGAIN :(
