what will your next car be realistically?!

 

im getting a little fed up of the zed (like a few here!)

 

thinking of a change, wont be for a year or so while i save the pennies and wife needs a new car first grrrr!

 

got 3 on the list of what i can get.

 

1. lotus elise - i like em but bit impracticle, noisy, uncomfortable but huge :D

2. jag xk8 (r?) - bit old man style but look classy and v8 supercharger oh yes!

3. maserati 3200 - right at top of budget and if anything goes major wrong im fooked! but they are flippin gorgeous!!

 

so what you fellas fancying next?

i had the 28 vr6 engine in my golf, a ltlle less horespower, but being front wheel drive it was more than enough

 

Thats the jobby, you can get a syncro and slap the VR6 lump in but lose quite a bit with the 4wd but as least it would lose some understeer :rofl:

i know the corrado campaign had all leather interior, would love to get my hands on one rare as rocking horse shit, i looked at the rallye but went for the rado g60 instead

r34 gtr m-spec, nsx 3.2 with popup lights (circa '97-98?), bmw m-coupe, 350z with VQ35HR engine, skyline 350gt (infiniti g35).

 

OR something normal and low maintenance like a 307HDI so I can fly below the radar and save loadsa cash!

im aiming for either a lambo, ferrari or 911 after my zed, but with the amount of money I have It will be more likley a cavalier lol

ahh true forgot about the 911! the 996 Carrera 4S is cool... the turbo body, rear light stip etc is pretty cool!

I agree. I think the GTO is a much better looking car than the Z. I've driven a couple and they're not as quick. I'd still have one though. Very pwetty :D

 

I don't think you'd be better off in the reliability stakes though.

 

I'd have a VX220 turbo if they weren't so impractical.

I shall be keeping my ZX (although I would replace it with another, but a manual next time)........

 

...........however after my SLK was brought home from Cornwall on an RAC truck last Sunday, followed by a £900 repair bill :( , that may be replaced in the near future. I'm thinking new shape SLK 280 or a 350z.

 

I'm tempted by a DB7 - 1998 cars are going for £27k - or a Maseratti 3200gt. But I think buying an older car for £20-27k is a big risk. Merc or 350z will be much newer and more relible as a daily drive.

I always loved the look of the Maserati 3200gt too, but the dealer I spoke to said they would not touch them!

 

The new ones are a different beast, post Ferarri takeover.

Thats not a combe..... Its the MTM badge ( why its there i dont know as the engine hasnt been tuned by them going by the specs :confused: )

late 80,s 911 turbo which would enable me to keep the zed, keep the wifes rover 420 for the tesco run and keep ignoring her pleas for a 540 beemer :D

Don't know what you've got to spend, but I bought my zed for supercar looks and speed, and there are'nt many more cars i'd consider for under my 15k budget.

 

Lotus Esprit SE Turbo

Toyota Supra Twin Turbo

Honda NSX

Nissan Skyline R33

s2000 with some performance mods would be a newer choice but if bizz is good this year then an f430 :D

it would have to be a ur audi quattro 20v turbo for me :) short sport would be nice!

Only 2 real replacements for my Z.

 

Been looking at Ferrari 348s and Honda NSXs. Hopefully the year after next if I'm still in the country.
