I am absolutely delighted!

A very big thank you to Jeff, Jamie and Lynda at ZedWorld for their superb service and hospitality.

Jeff and Jamie replaced both of the rear lower HICAS bushes yesterday and sent the car for it's MOT. Passed with flying colours and not even as much as an advisory!

Have been having some problems with the car lately: flat battery after holidays, funny gearbox changes, sloppy rearend (car not mine ...) and a leaking powersteering hose (thanks for pointing that out Jamie). Am really pleased the old girl passed! That's six passes in the last six years I've owned her ... not bad for what is now a 17 year old car.

And to top it all off, I received an insurance quote through the post today: £198 fully comp!!! It's on a classic car policy and seems to be quite good. Will give it some more thought over the weekend as I've just renewed the insurance yesterday for around £489 (which is already a really good quote compared to last year's premium).

Apologies if this all seems irrelevant to everyone - I just wanted to share some good news for a change!

Night all!

Dan

Nice one!!

Dunmow Tyremart are top blokes for tyre fitting (they really know how to use the wheel balancer) but I've never used them for an MOT. I do however know a guy nearby who seems to have a very sensible approach to the MOT test and I usually take the Z there. It's never failed - wherever I take it.

Pleased for yer mate, glad we don't have the worry of these MOT things over here :D

cheers

Really ? Not at all ?

cool!

not cool if your car is wreck and is dangerous to yourself and others IMO :smw:

only pissing thing that annoys me is when MOT tester fail your car on headlight alignments or blown bulbs FFS really gets my back up! My answer is change the fooker and bill me

yet they can advise you on a worn suspension component which could go at any time or the like  grrrrrr

nice one dan glad it was all good

Nope, the only slight exception to this is if we bring a car in from the UK and register it here, if it's more than 3 years old, it has a car test similar your MOT's before we can put Manx plates on it.

In fairness the standard/condition of cars is quite good, small island and shit loads of garages, lol

cheers
