There is NO way I would subscribe to this sick stuff! how have they got my name and mail address? is there anywhere I should report this to?

Jeff,

There is virtually nothing you can do about this sort of thing except change your email address. Once you are on one of these lists there is no getting off them and they get passed around and so multiple copies exist. You have probably done one of the worst things possible in trying to unsubscribe, because you will have now confirmed that your email actually exists and is a 'live' one.

 

There are two things you can try. 1) write some rules in Outlook that automatically dump this stuff in the bin and 2) forward the email back to the persons ISP and inform them that they are being used for SPAMing, which is illegal in some countries.

yep, i got this email too

I had to get rid of one of my hotmails because of the junk I got. I was getting about 20 a day. I tried to unsubscribe to them, but it said 10 working days before it takes effect, but in that time I kept getting more and more from them.

Well you can use spam programes or if you use Outlook you can block this, assuming the mail keeps being sent.

i get about 100 emails of crap a day on my hotmail account,totally does ya head in,companies(owners) that send crap like that want stringing up by their boll**cks.

The domain is registered to a Koran and the website is hosted in Russia. I passed this on to some colleagues at the FBI. Hopefully they will be able to do something about it.

 

It would be great if anyone could forward me the email you received with all headers showing, then we could possibly get the spammer as well.

I got this as well and seem to be gettin this crap most days blockin the sender seems to do no good either

ive told a few people, the IP of that site will be unrouted soon hopefully in the UK and USA,

I have had about 3 in the last week when I open it, it says McAfee discovered a virus. Seems to be more and more of things like that going round

This sort of thing sickens me too.

 

However, care should be taken posting up the whois information. I don't know a lot about this but is it possible for someone to set things up to get a different person coming up on whois searches ? I only ask because I can imagine some people's reaction to this sort of thing.

 

I know that I was talking to someone on here about whois searches recently and a search on them came up with someone elses details.

 

If there is a possibility that the above details are not accurate then I think they should be removed. I can imagine my own reaction if my name was linked to this sort of thing in error.

 

Just a thought.

Thing is Robert my FSNET email is not on display,and how else could this have happened?I never ever get spam because I never submit my email to anything on the net,It was sent to my Hotmail and my Fsnet .

This all seemed to happen on Saturday, is it possible for someone to 'hack' the BB software and extract a number of E-Mail addresses then use them to 'subscribe' to that shit???

 

Good point by Vinz, if anyone sees that KP shit on PC, you will get into trouble faster than you can say 'I didn't do it!'.

There is a lesson to be learnt for nearly everyone here I think. If you have your email address 'on display' like it is in this forum then it is a simple matter for these to be harvested by certain programs. If in your profile you add something like ".nospam" to the end of the address then this will stop happening. The only thing is that when people send you email using the link they will need to edit the address each time. You see people do this a lot in newsgroups, which are routinely harvested for valid addresses.

just to throw a spanner in the works, i got it sent to my other email adresses, not the hotmail email i have available on here in my profile so i cant see it being just targeted againts us lot.

I received this crap on an entirely different e-mail address...don't think its targeted to members of this site. If you talk to other net users there is absolutely LOADS of this kinda crap out there. If you don't get much of it you're one of the lucky ones.

I've not had it on my Yahoo account but I will check my MSN shite account in a minute! You know that MircroShaft maybe the world dominator of PC software but to be honest they are nothing short of shite!!!

 

I've had a mail account with Yahoo for years, never had any spam mail at all. They even have a Bulk Mail folder for anything remotely like spam.

 

MSN? I had to bin my original account years ago as I was getting about 100 emails of porn and shite everyday. Since signing up for MSN I'm starting to get more and more porn related bollox!!!
