sure it wasn't as sport NA model? Lol no chance a zed will stay with a scoob in the space of first gear.

was just thinking that, altho i nailed an focus RS the other day in my auto, was so proud :D

Altho i admit it was a rolling start for both of us, so i had the advantage of alot more power... if it were standing then id have been owned :(

No, you would beat an RS fron standard start to....its 0-60 is something like 6.5secs

6.3, mine is an auto so i can get in 40 winks before movement starts!

Auto TT will still do the 0-60 in less than 6 standard. ;)

Ahh suppose, i make excuses for it though being 14 years old, nearly as old as me bless her!

I was only 6 when it was built lol

Dunno m8...

Could be.

Fun tho. :D

depends on the scooby. an older model has 0-60 quoted as 5.8. newer ones are much less but will run out of puff before you can say ninety ;)

What he said.....

......Focus ST is no competition.....although in the corners it may be different.

I'd still try though - I prefer RWD handling....

Richard

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

That's true........

........70-120 on a m-way (sorry, private test track) and the Scooby is history :p

That makes sense. Rounder style rear end with big exhaust.(I dunno!?)

The lad was revin the fook outa it at the lights, so i went for it.

(bracknell / bagshot bypass btw.)

Got my nose in front and stayed that way till the mid 3rd gear... Then the gap opened up. By the end of fourth gear, the scoob had given up...

Whatever the opinion...

It was fun!:D

(Now to start modding the engine! And kissing my bank manager shoes for an extended over draft!!!lol:D)

Dunno why anyone gives scoop-a-poo's the credit they do  Every single one I've raced off the lights has been eating dust... If it was wet it would be different....

i raced a honda nsx on m5 on the way back from jap fest!

we were cruising at 85 then he floored it, i was right behind him up to 135 when we both backed off i think we both had the thought of double the speed limit and instant ban! was well happy to stay with him in my auto!!!

he gave me the thumbs up when he left motorway which was quite funny!!!

What colour was it ? Paul@SWZ also raced a NSX on way back in a stock Supra TT and beat/matched it.

it was yellow and traveling with red one too!

me and friend in his zed traveled with them from jap fest too bridgewater turning!!

I've got both, 1991 300ZX TT and 2007 Impreza STI-UK. I think the Subaru is a much, much better drive. Don't get me wrong after 100mph it's all over for the Subaru but on UK roads with UK weather the Subaru is my weapon of choice.

i saw this as well on sunday. been to pick a pair of tyres up just off j28, m1. on the way back the yellow nsx went past me followed closely by a scooby & an s2000.

still doesent deter from the fact that a paper aeroplane is built better, and the gear box is like a bag of smashed crabs.

Ive driven both the STI AND the zed imho the STI is overated, overpriced and poorly built, in comparison for its age it is quite unbeleivable the zeds build quality at the side of a brand new imprezza.

IMHO obviuosly you do understand!

I agree the Subaru build quality is nowhere near the Z. We are talking about different animals though. The Z was almost 30k when new? Back when 30k was proper money. I picked up a new STI-UK for just over £20k thanks to EU importing. The gearbox I'm not so sure about was it the 6 speed or the old 5 speed you drove? The STI UK is of course PPP but lets face it that’s just an emissions technicality. The PPP should have been on all the cars from the factory. I'm surprised you’ve driven an STI and think it’s over rated, maybe you didn't drive it fast enough in the bends :) To truly appreciate the epic handling you've got to be on the limit on the twisty stuff.

I've been a Z owner for over 6 years now and it's easily the best all rounder I've ever owned. Cruising around with the roof off at 160mph with Rob Zombie barely audible on the stereo is fantastic. As automotive porn the Subaru is Jo Brand to the Z's Jo Guest. BUT as a drivers car the Z doesn't come close to the latest STI-UK PPP IMVHO. As for reliability.... lol forget about it

edit: Sorry for hijacking your thread Schumi_not! There's nothing like destroying your first performance car behind the wheel of your Z. Long may it continue! :hyper: I've done my share of STI UKs in the Z on the A66. They run out of puff long before my Z even thinks about breaking a sweat or another gearbox.

trust me i did abuse it round the bends as it wasnt mine.

It was 6 speed gear box.
