As above, could someone let me know how far these come out from the body of the car?

Cheers,

Leigh.

without measuring, I was led to believe they are 6" wider in total....so 3" each side...which does'nt seem like a lot....

your misses says 3" makes all the difference

I could measure the total width tonight if it helps?

If that's ok, would appreciate it just to double check :) If it's easier, maybe take the measurement from the trailing point of the rear quarter window to the outer edge of the arch?

The genuine Strosek is 60mm flare each side which is 2.5 inches from the outer edge of the wheel arch. The Explosion is 70mm which is 2.75 inches, but it all comes down to the way body shops fit them and Most tend to pull them out as wide as possible. This results in the wheel arch being too high and the wrong shape. + IMO makes the rear arches look pants. Very few genuine Stroseks or early paul baileys look good. Haven't seen any real good ones for ages.

Cheers for that Mark, appreciated mate. Just wanted to see how big my custom arches are compared to them! :)

Er...a lot wider than that at the moment! :D ;) Have decided to cut them back a bit to make them a little more user friendly for day to day driving. Wanted to gauge the width I'm going to be pulling them back to. Ideally so they're still bigger than the Explosion arches Mark mentioned. :)

Yep but the Explosion arches are so subtle that they don't look as wide as the Strosek type, but your going for the real serious in your face OTT Jap GT style.

IMO if your going to do it Leigh be brave and do it right. Don't be half hearted.

You're right you know Mark. TBH, after looking at them again I think I'm only going to shave about 5 mm off to lose the step that has been put on them connecting the arch to the body. I'm also seriously toying with the idea of going for a proper race-look "riveted arch" affair...
