Being a bit of a noob to this insurance lark with Zs, I was wondering if anyone could give me a point and a push in the right direction.

I had a very VERY good quote from elephant for a Z (£1300 for a uk spec manual twin turbo) despite me only being 20. Tried to do a Jspec one and it just lauged at me and said I had to be 21 to insure it.

What I'm asking is, is there anyone under 21 who has insured a Jspec 300zx twin turbo? Which insurer did you get the policy from?

Same with me bud, I find it too expensive to insure jap cars for some unknown reason. When I was looking for mine UK - £650, Jap - £1800. Even the same situation 4 yrs on?

guys. Classic car insurance and performance car insurance companies. Stop fooking about with the online dicount as they discount the fact they are ripping you off.

Adrian Flux

Norton (herritage)

sky insurance was the only company that would insure me when i bought my j-spec aged 19

You will find elephant become very competitive when you become 21.

Most won’t touch youngsters though. Under 21 is a huge problem insuring a jap or performance car.

Norton Heritage wont tuch me as their minimum is 23, I will ring Adrian Flux tomorow, but I won't hold out much hope. Same thing with Carol Nash too.

im 24 but i got zero no claims, im insured through admiral on me uk tt for £990 and i have a cd10 ban on me licence but when i bought my jap tt they wouldnt touch it so i rang around and was gettin quotes between 2 and 4 grand then i rang a place called gsi insurance and they quoted me £1600 so i almost bit their hands off!

gsi insurance: 0800 6129376

I went on elephant.co.uk and the only people who would insure me was admiral, im was 22, fully comp, told them about all the mods, student £1400,

now im 23, its gone down to £941, it went down £250 cos i finished being a student, altho my dads jap spec is £144 more.

One thing you should deffinatly try is putting your dad/mum as a second named driver, that saved me £3-400

Im 24 J-spec NA Manual 0 NCB 1 SP30

Umm around £2k Ish

Didnt pay that much attention i wanted the car :) I spend £220 every month on insurance.

Min you renewal in june and touch wood 1 year NCB and ill be 25.
