Evening all,

Have just taken off and cleaned IAV. After refitting used Datascan to reset idle.

I set the base idle to 600ish but when switching back to normal settings idle jumped to about 850. This seems a bit high to me but didn't want to take base idle any lower.

Have used search but there seems to be conflicting views.

Is 850 too high. car runs well now so shall i just leave it alone. :)

Have cleaned t/b's and all connecters. dont think there are any vacs leaks.

Any advice appreciated

cheers

Since you have datascan, probably worth checking the TPS. Should be between 0.4 and 0.5 at idle (mine was 0.38 which resulted in an idle of 1500ish). There should also be an idle signal shown on the display (showing whether the ECU thinks the car is idle or not) unplugging the grey connector from the TPS while the engine it running should reset it

There is a pretty good idle diagnostic in the fuel and emissions section of the FSM

Thought 750 was idle speed after base is set.

PMSL no worries mate

got the a/c on? If so then 850 is normal, should be about 750-800 otherwise.
