lol not much help tho bud cos cant get it locally and need to do it tomorrow..

cheers all the same..

millers 10w40 semi synth i can get and will probably use unless anyone screams no to me in the next hour ..lol

I've been running Mobile 1 0-40 fully synthetic and have just changed to Millers Trackday 10-50 fully synthetic and the problem has gone completely. So i recon that the oil was just too thin and sloshed straight down the rocker vents along the pipes through the PVC's and into the plenum.

Must be ok.

silkolene pro s 10-50 fully synthetic as recommended by our very own... oilman!

is that also ok for high powered Z? or does Castrol RS 10W60 is ok?

i would joely but the problem is since a certain pj got his hands on it the odometer and trip dont work anymore

is that also ok for high powered Z? or does Castrol RS 10W60 is ok?

Castrol RS 10-60 for me used it for the last 7 years.

I use 5-30 weight

I bet you don't go fast round right handers. That stuff is so waterlike it just runs out the breathers, through the PCV's and looks like you've blown a turbo.

IMO Millers 10-50 or 10-60 fully synthetic is the way to go.

I use 5-30 weight

In a TT?

I'd say that a "30" rating is much too thin when hot, afterall Nissan specified a 10w40 semi-synth for the stock engine.

Any decent quality oil with a hot rating of "40" or over is fine; if your engine is fairly stock and in good condition then a good 5w40 or 10w40 will be OK.

If your ZX is highly tuned and putting out big power then go for a "50" or "60" rating.

I'd also say that 2k mile oil changes are too frequent if you use a top quality fully synthetic oil as the oil doesn't get the chance to do it's stuff (according to an old Oilman thread). Nissan specified 9000 miles with a semi synthetic, but now these cars are older, I'd say that a decent fully synthetic would be fine if changed at between 4-6000 miles.

Richard

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

as sinatra says :p

"i did it MY way"

So from this thread you are advised:

Use Semi or Fully Synthetic between 0-30 and 10-60 and change it every 2000 to 9000 miles  LOL
