I am the groundsman at the local cricket club and have booked the ground for the above weekend for a car meet.

 

My plan is make it something like JAE but just with the 300zx club to start with as it will be the first event of this type that I have organised.

 

I am looking to get around 50 cars to enter as a competition. There will be an entry fee to the competition to pay for trophies etc. and if I get enough interest then a band/disco could also be booked. There is a social club at the site with a bar and toilet facilities. There is a similar event held here for bikes which has been going for around 5 years which has turned into a great success.

 

There are a couple of places in the village that do B&B but people are more than welcome to camp overnight if they want. If people are wishing to camp there would perhaps be a small fee for this as well so that the toilets and shower facilities could be made available.

 

The event will be held in Great Offley. The village is about 15 minutes from junction 10 on the M1 and around the same from junction 8 on the A1. Here’s a map

If we get enough numbers I may be able to sort out a rolling road for the day (extra charge more than likely) and also an area away from the show cars for burnouts to keep those petrol heads of you satisfied.

 

The other quistion is what comps should we have?

 

Best overall car at show (combination of results from below)

Best paint job.

Best engine bay.

Best interior.

Loudest sound system.

 

There will be seperate trophys for BHP Torque and burnout if we get enough interest in these events.

 

Any other ideas then let me know.

 

I am also looking for the traders to get involved. You can come along and sell your stuff. Depending on ow many people are there again we may have to charge but that is open to discussion.

I would also like to get as many of the traders there as is possible. They can do some trade and meet the people that buy there goods.

 

I was hoping for a better response by now. I need a lot more interest so that I can go ahead and book entertainment etc.

 

This will be a non profit event. Any monies left over after expenses will go to charity so come on people lets get signed up. If you can't make it I would still like to know so that I can judge the intrest.

My poscode is SG5 3EN if you want to do a route map. I live just round the corner from the ground.

 

It is basically around 6 miles from junction 10 of the M1 or junction 8 of the A1. This is around 30 miles north of the centre of London.

 

Camping would be possible on the Friday night if you want or there are a couple of places that do B&B in the village.

 

I think the judging will start around 2pm so lots of time for people to travel to the site in the morning if they so wish.
