I have been listening to Radio2 this week whilst driving around, and they had a vote a vehicle off the road Poll.....The 4x4 lost. So I thought I would see how the same Poll fairs on here. :)

I voted for car & caravan.

Far too many of them driving around and holding up the traffic.

Horse boxes are slow too, but there are not so many of them clogging up the roads and as for old people - we all drive ZXs so we can easily overtake them

So caravanners - if you want to live like a pikey and enjoy sleeping in a tin sweat-box and pissing in a bucket there's something wrong with you. Burn the bloody thing and go on a proper holiday FFS :smash:

Richard :)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Its Old Folgies for me i'm afraid, they drive slow, they cannot park, they dont check there mirrors etc, etc. and for this...they get cheap car insurance.

cyclists, fookin hate them, they can use the roads, pay no tax or insurance they can cause an accident and just foook off

and dont get me started on the ar5e holes that ride side by side aaagggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Say wot ya feel Saz LOL

cycles for me,hate the way they sit at traffic lights like part of the traffic, but get stuck in a jam and its up on the kirb then off they go, also if they do cause damage, how do you claim, or do you just knock them off their bike

horse riders too, stick to fookin bridalways and fields, theres no place on modern roads for you.

HGVs! If they were back on the train system then 50% of the countrys road over-crowding problems would be sorted; and all you people who are about to moan because you drive HGVs: you could then get a job on the LOCAL railway and not have to drive across the country every day. Thats my opinion anyows!

Apart from the fact that most of the bridalways have been quietly turned into either roads or paths over the years that is............

bloomin tractors - just as youre about to open the throttle up on a fantastic country road - there's a tractor in front doing about 5mph.

yes its called progress...

I dont get this agro toward "old People" most of the realy bad drivers I come accross on a day to day basis are, under 20 or parents doing teh school run.

Ill take an old person over those idiots any day of the week.

People towing caravans need to be neutered.

Dont tarnish everybody who cycles, with the same brush.

Cycling side by side, is what it says in the highway code that you can cycle 2 abreast, this is safer as someone in a car may not see two individual cyclists, one infront of another.

Oh yeah, I do happen to have cycle insurance, £20 a month for £1000 000 in third party liability. I cycle 30miles a day, to and from work and see more cars causing havoc on the road, pulling out infront of guys on bikes, pushing you against the kerb when there is PLENTY room to pass. If motor bikes can weave through traffic, why cant we? I cant stand cyclists that use the pavement though, think that is dangerous.

I think more people should get onto a bike to get to work, it'll make for a healthier nation.

Am with you Andrew. :)

4 x 4's and HGV's for me. They clog up the roads you cann't see around or through them. Oh not forgetting the state the HGV's leave our motorways in. No wonder people don't like to use the inside lane after HGV's have worn trough's in them. Then of course other road user's end up sticking in the middle lane holding up traffic and causing a 3rd of our motorway spaces to be used up incorrectly.

Don't even get me on foreign HGV's either as they cann't even see you overtaking them most of the time and pull out on you.

Get the freight back on the trains, free up, and save our roads

I know we all hate the way HGV's clog up the roads but we all want fresh food and goods on the shelves as well, its all well saying use trains but how many Tesco's have their own railway stations round the back? No matter how much goods are sent via trains it still needs to be loaded into lorrys and taken to various distribution centres, depots and shops. A better solution would be to limit the hours HGVs can work, keep them off the roads during the rush hours and get them to do more during the night.

And cyclists who ride 2 abreast are doing it purely to be awkward, if you drove a car at 10mph on a single carrigeway causing tailbacks and dangerous overtaking you would be charged with causing an obstruction or whatever the charge is, its no different to what cyclists are doing..

I honestly think we should Ban HGV's off the roads on Sundays, like the rest of europe? IMO

OK........why is there NO .." none zed driver's " vote...

my vote goes to ....anything in my FOOKING way..... :) ;)...

....

P.S. i think testing of older driver's a must.....!!!!..from the age of about 60...

i only say this as i have seen with my own eye's ,,some of the crash's ..

and this one old boy ..said sorry i didn't see him !!! i forgot my glasses :headvswal WTF...and the biker was killed ..... :headvswal

the one good thing was the old boy SAID "he will never drive again"...

...

since i live out in the wilds, sodding tractors on country lanes with shit all over their tyres it flies everywhere hell of a mess on the road, & do you think they are roadworthy?? i think not friggin prehestoric wrecks with no light or hand signals yet the cops do sweet fa!!

Cyclists who ride more than 2 abreast are just plain selfish and just do it deliberatley to cause obstruction. I was out the other weekend and a whole group of cyclists were riding 4-5 abreast on a 70mph dual carriageway :wack: . B@stards deserved to be knocked off IMO

2 abreast may be acceptable in the highway code but they really should consider the width of the road and speed limit before making that decision. Also I think they should be prepared to move into single file temporarily to allow cars to pass if necessary.

I've nothing against cyclists normally but I bet over 90% do not have any 3rd party insurance. What if they knock someone over on a zebra crossing or jump a red light get hit by a car with right of way? How does the pedestrian or motorist claim for damage?

Then if they just ride off, there is very little chance of them being traced (cars have registration plates, cyclists don't)

IMO EVERY road user other than a pedestrian (from horse rider to cyclist) should have 3rd party insurance and some identifying mark by law, just like a car or motorbike - that would be fair.

I dont mind who is on the road as long as they drive curtiously,ie signal on roundabouts, changing lanes on the motorway etc and give consideration to other road users its the arse holes who drive like a coont and expect everyone to get out their way racing up my arse flashing their lights that piss me off, best thing about driving a zed is when them coonts do that then try to take you on the inside, i love it when they do that i speed up just enough so they cant get past and they get blocked in fookin love doing that

you will be in the minorty with regards to insurance and i commend you for that i really do, however my opinion still stands, the roads are to dangerous the roads now a days are not places for cyclists, it is quite simply dangerous in my opinion.

I fully believe the government and highways agency should put safe routes for cyclists it just a shame that the cycle paths in place now dont stretch for more than 3 feet!

If there was a network soley for cyclists where i did not have to use the roads i would most definitely cycle to work it would wonders for air pollution and even more wonders for my ar5e

another thing that REALLY gets on my wick, anyone else agree:

Sorry Si. Too much spare time.

Fookin ell!!

Some of us drive a 4x4 to work, my work is driving HGV's, and I ride a push bike sometimes too!!

I do agree with Kim's comments that HGV's should be banned off the road on weekends though!!
