Well picked up my new 300 today and on the way from the blokes house to mine the temp goes up to the red.... so i pull over and water is coming out from the front of the engine! :mad: (pasenger side) and i cant see where from!! :cry:

Anyway.. so i ring the bloke and the water pump was replaced last few weeks and not been driven any distance since....

So is it likely a pipe wasn't tight enough? any ideas? iv had to leave her at a mates untill untill next week, then i will get her moved to my house and start looking at what the problem is.

Any ideas will be much appreciated :cry:

More than likely didn't bleed all the air out of the system when they refilled it. Water is probably coming out of the expansion tank overflow.

is it cold or hot?

hot = not good, main system

cold = overflow

Seemed fine cold, but after about 20 miles it overheated and started dumping its water, I'm praying its just a lose pipe... any other ideas

Mine did it the once, standing at the front of the car it looked as if it was coming from the front right hand side of the engine when you looked at the pool of water on the floor. Bled the system properly and it never happened again...

Did you have to tighten anything? and what is the set routine of bleeding the system?

so is the general idea that I simply need to bleed the system and she should be ok? :)

Sounds to good to be true.....

its not that you can bleed it as such, more fill it really slowly with the engine ticking over. Eventually it fills right up. Cap it and warm it right up and the top hose should get good and hard. If the weathers really cold then you need to drive it to get it to pressurise. If it doesnt get hard then its leaking somewhere. If it gets hard and still throws out the water you might still have air locks in the heater matrix or a duff radiator cap or worse a head gasket problem. If its a leak then you should see it drip long before the temp gauge soars.
