Was on my way home last nite at 9ish, just dropped my kids off in derbyshire.

Off the A1 onto the A19, loads of spray/rain etc. Me, in my volvo, and another driver in new Saab estate. We were doing 70ish, hes in front, just as we come around a shallow bend i barely notice hazards flashing in the distance - as we get real close we realise someone has stopped in one of the 2 lanes on the A19 :headvswal :headvswal

Unfortunately the Saab hit it at 70 ishmph and blew his car and parts all over the carraigeway - I swerved and smashed into the parts and it blew my front tyres out at 70mph, I finally managed to get the car to a halt 300 metres away from impact.

The Saabs passenger wing, bonnet, wheel etc was embedded in to the passenger side of the car - a total right off.

We went up to look at the other car.

It was a fiesta. It was hit so hard it knocked it clean of the A19 and right up the inclines at the side.

Inside it was an old lady  It took 2 hrs to cut her out of the wreckage, the car was mashed. Apparently she just pulled over and stopped - no one knows why, but she was in a bad way when the ambulance carted her off.

All the while bloody great trucks are thundering past with debris on the road that caused my blow out, when the cops arrived the traffic slowed down :xxx:

She was fooking lucky a truck didnt hit her - she would not have made it.

The worst thing about the whole accident was that where she stopped was a hump back bend......where I stopped (300 metres away) was a slip road

Luckily the saab driver was ok, his car was totalled - he managed to get his off the road and parked near mine.

I was totally caught off guard with the accident. I saw the hazards, so I kept looking at them.....all of a sudden when you are soooo close you realise they're not off the carraigeway......bang :( too late.

I think I was very lucky last nite :(

It may sound cruel but the old lady got the rewards for her stupidity. She could have easily got her car of the road, theres a verge right along the road large enought o drive on.

I truly have no sympathy...she could have killed someone. If a truck would have clouted her, along with the volume of traffic - it would have been a real tradegy and ALL her fault

That aside...I do hope she recovers.....and gets banned for being so careless.

I finally get home at 11.30 after changing my tyres in the p*ss*ng rain for 2 1/2 hrs :headvswal

If you see hazards you are suposed to slow down, failing to do so leads to? If you had limited visability and you where doing 70+ then your lucky youo got away with a wrote off car.

Bud

My car is ok cos I slowed down when I saw the hazards.

Its the saab driver who wrote his car off.

The vis wasnt that bad, I think the prob in situations like that is the disbeleif factor.

You can see whats going on but your mind says...that car shouldnt be there. And in that moment some valuable time is lost.

I dont know about all you perfect drivers out there but it defo took me by suprise and I dealt with it without losing it.

Whats it gonna be, you hit the bits at 70 or you slowed down from 70 both your quotes.

Look the fault lies with the old lady and the Saab driver, but you have to admit both of you were going too fast for the road conditions.

It doesn't matter to me as you are not hurt and you were in a Volvo, but others might want to take note of the situation and think about thier speed in poor conditions.

FPMSL  Just wait till I see ANY of you doing 70mph on the motorway in the rain  I think a 1 week ban would be appropriate   ;)

Allo duffy,

As you can tell its CSI forum here  all the experts are out of the sofas now and on a PC :wack:

It must be nice for other 300zx drivers being so....well....omnipotent

And be able to look down on others as 'master of the road'.....lucky for me I dont give a crap

Like I said duffs, If i was in my zed and it was a chav.....it would be a different thread and everyone (almost) would be pleased no doubt....they cant hide the other threads on the forum that give it all away!!!

Now they'll be wanting me to find quotes lol.

Funny thing is I dont remember seeing any zeds out there that night.

But they sure as hell talk as if they were.

I dont mind sensible comments, it just the self righteous bullsh*t that I get sick of.

Rant over....I'll let them go polish their halo's :)

marc mate glad you are ok, why the **** all the people decided to read half of your post and go on a rant is beyond me. You avoided the accident, the saab driver did not. as far as my 2p's worth go's all the "you should.." "You could..." etc should be directed at the saab driver not you..

Kim we gonna have to sort this lot out before long you know.. pmsl

I agree speedy,

There seems to be a very unsavoury element to this club at the moment which is very disappointing

Ive noticed the same thing going off in other threads on this forum - its no wonder so many peeps have gone elsewhere :(

Can smell a revolution in the air?

I think I've got to the bottom of this all now

Saab drivers

This is what really happened isn't it Marc :nono:

What a thread!!!!!!

Glad you ok Bud and can totally agree with you.

Been in a similar position myself (as a passenger) in my mates car.

It comes on you quicker than you think and over in a flash.

It's easy to sit here reading the thread and everyone knowing what should be done 'next time' but we all know it doesn't work like that (unless your trained lke Nick).

My mate was being tailgated at the time and he was watching him in his rear view mirror when we came round a bend to find a car in the middle of the lane.

My mate just clipped it a spun onto the hard shoulder.

Again why was the car there! (this car was empty)

You seem to have handled it well in my opinion and wish I could avoid such an accident if it were ever to occur.

Is the A19 a dualcarriage way as then it would only have 2 lanes and no hard shoulder.

yep 2 lanes, partial hard shoulder, rest grass verges

You obvioulsly didnt get laid last night :xxx:

Dont worry you can pick your dummy up later

If you were there and witnessed it I would consider some of your points

BUT seeing as you weren't and obviously haven't read the whole thread..

You would see that I was not involved, I was behind an accident

Bloody keyboard ninjas :smash: :smash: :smash:

  • Author

I would also like to add that when I wrote the thread it was just after witnessing the whole thing

So I may have been a little harsh....so what!

Anyone would have been in the same situation.

Dont get me wrong I didnt WANT to see what I did but it happened. It would have still happened had I not been there!!!

I sincerely hope that the woman recovers 110%, I wouldnt wish that on anyone.

However, having seen it all, I still think stopping like that was a severe error in judgement which could have cost her life and others....so I stand by my comments about retesting/banning for anyone making that bad an error.

Its not like I want her sent to prison...its just a retest!!!

Like I sais b4...if it was a chav...different story.

as we get real close we realise someone has stopped in one of the 2 lanes

So you DID see the flashing hazards and did nothing. Didnt slow down, lot off, reduce your speed in preporation for the hazard which the hazard lights indicate, while driving at 70+ at night with poor visiblity and driving conditions?

As I said earlier if you'd have actually read the whole thread you would have seen the part where it says about the curve in the road and the fact that I slowed down and moved over and avoided any collision.

you obviously didnt/couldnt read that bit.

marc im on your side mate, and guys FFS give the guy a break! whats he done? witnessed an accident! yes yes i know maybe you can say people should of been driving slower, but who the fook is expecting to see a car stopped in the middle of an A road?

it like the new hazard tests, u have to click a button if i child is on the pavement, in case for no reason they hurl themselves in front of your car! you cant always anticipate every accident otherwise the speed limit would be 5mph

Thanks Jack :)

You cant plan for every eventuality....just do your best when it does happen tho.

Its a shame that some peeps have to resort to hurling abuse at others.

mate srrae use to wind everyone up on here, dont worry about Mr Opinionated

:xxx:

blue zed owners should stick together

To be honest bud it sounded he had been breast feeding then mumsy took him off....then shoved a dummy in..then popped him in his pram :xxx:

1st thing he saw was this thread so out went the dummy & toys and over went the pram :)

To be honest, I didnt really care what he thinks. He obviously hasnt read the whole thread and just commented on the 1st bit.

When it all happened I was concerned about both the woman and the saab driver. Even tho the woman was sent to hospital and was not severely injured (even tho it took a while to get her out) you'd think from srrae (arrse) :xxx: that she'd had all her bones broken and was at deaths door etc etc etc and it was my fault.

I agree Blue's the way to go mate :)

I remember why I stopped coming on her. Wánkérs like you where starting to creep in.

I would probably get banned for this, but I just had to point out how much of a fúckíng moron you are and you are a total pr íck.

Fookin 'ell stu thats a bit harsh    Who exactly did you stop coming on anyway? Did she not like it?

  • Author

I wonder if hes found his dummy yet.....probably uses it as a butt plug

Wouldnt matter which end it went either...it'll still get covered in sh*te :xxx:

Sorry if I'm offending anyone with my comments peeps

Its just that @rrse (srrae) got me in the mood to be silly :wack:

not still going on is it hang fire whilst i get the popcorn!!

deal brb
