First off I have to say to paul at SWZ that you did a admirable job ( just putting up with me today) on the conversion mate, I take my hat off to you( if i was the hat wearing type).
Second, to the people who think autos are better , you are clearly deluded and need to go to see a psychiatrist to end your delusional behaviour, I picked my now manual Z up from SWZ today and find it hard to put into words how I feel but will try.
When I started driving away I wasnt that impressed, it didnt feel sharper or quicker than before, I had fitted a EBC before taking it in and hadnt had a chance to set it up properly so decided to use the 150 mile trip on the way home to do this, the problem was the boost was "pulsing" so I first tried raising the gain but this only slightly corrected it and ended up with spikes, then tried altering the opening psi of the wastegate to 0psi to see what happened , it got worse, so decided after thinking whilst i was driving if i raised the opening boost of the wastegate to 6psi and adjust the gain from there to dial in to my set boost it should work, OMFG the manual came into its own, the way it is accelerating is immense, I am back to being scared when i accelerate again( this is just at 9psi the low setting) , the way it is climbing up the speedo is how my auto accelerated at 14psi.
I can put some of this down to having a closed wastegate till 6psi as you get a immediate full boost till the EBC controls it but I feel the way it accelerates with the manual is harsher and more immediate.
All in all im a very happy chappy and if anyone is thinking of a manual conversion then do it, even better get paul to do it.
