2 dump valves and it isn't a silly question.

You'll find though if you do a search you'll find the answer quickly.

Think there was someone asked the same question the other day too

more fun this way :p

so i take it every twin turbo car need 2? ie supra, gto etc

I wouldn't have thought so depending on the setup of the turbos. sequecial turbos work inline where as the z setup is independent same size turbos. the z has one either side of the engine effectivly two 1.5 turbo engines with seperate intake piping and exhaust.

i am ready to be shot down in flames.

trying to find the thread but there was asking the same thing and there was a photo showing one mounted up by itsefl and it ended up it would cost that much to make up the pipe work you might as well just buy the two dump valves lol

I suppose you could just fit one, and leave the stock re-circ on the other.

Don't see a problem with that to be honest.

I have heard somone who had one fitted before. dont ask me how because you cant see them because the were fitted in replace of the old re-circs. so I guess it may be possible but if you fit one you will prob spend a lot trying to get a fitting kit for it

If you get hard pipes and connect the the two that go to the throttle bodies then you can mount one on that pipe, but as nick said after getting the pipework sorted you may as well save and get two.

Now stop being impatient :nono:

Yes you need 2 and no you can't just fit 1 and then buy the other LOL

Here's how you could fit a single one but it's just not worth the custom pipework and hastle:

If you fitted just one and left a recirc valve on the car would run like a bag of s**t! :slap:

One side of the engine would have air recirculated into it and the other side would be dumping air out (and they wouldn't release at the same time either) so the mixture would be all wrong.

A lot of cars need adjustments after fitting BOV's to get them idling correctly and to stop them stalling when coming off the throttle so you couldn't do that if you had some wierd combination setup.

Have a look at the Z1 Motorsport RFL kit it's an absolute bargain, comes with a fitting kit and is stupidly loud :D

$279.00 = £143.00 plus shipping from U.S

right then 2 it is....and do they have to be the same type?

depends on the design of the engine, the 3000GT aka GTO only uses one BOV in standard form

Yes buy a set that comes with a fitting kit for the Z otherwise you'll be spending more money trying to modify them or find parts to make them fit.

There's lots of cheap BOV's about but they're crap and not really designed for this car.

Here's a few that will fit straight on in order of price:

Turbo XS RFL (Z1 use these as their own brand)

Apexi

HKS

Blitz
