Damaged My Alloys... advice needed. (pics attached)

Hi all,

I hit a divider curb in the middle of the road the other night. Damaged my alloy quite badly and caused my tire to leak  .... so, need some advice.

1. Where can I get it repaired (preferably in London), and what's the rough cost?

2. I've got small bolts inside the alloy so you can undo all the studs, does that mean it's a split rim? If so would that make it easier to repair?

3. How much you reckon the alloys are worth? in current condition and if i get them repaired?

Thanks.

snx

Hello mate,

These people ar ein Hemel and did a really good job on repairing 2 dents in my wheel a few weeks ago http://www.wheelrefurbishing.com/index.htm

If you call them, tell them the guy with the 300zx and the German Shepherd recomended them :)

Cheers mate, gonna try this local tire place first, the guy reckons he knows someone who can have a look.

Will give the other place a try if I don't get anywhere with him.

Thanks.

snx.

I'm in basically the same boat as you Sonix.

I have got some new alloys but I want to repair/refurb the old ones.

Keep me posted about your progress.

Vijay - I will give those guys a call, they are just down the road from me.

Cheers...

Went to a couple of tyre places today... they reckon it's damaged beyond repair.but i'm not giving up yet.

Also, have no idea about where to get a new one from, they've got 'Medusa' written on them, but they were on the car when i got it imported.

if you get no joy local there is a guy up north who repaired my split rim which was a lot worse than that the company is called ACE PERFORMANCE telephone number 01555841000 ..

looking at that damage :nono: make sure your safety is not compromised because iff that was my wheel ide be getting it rolled down the road.

hope you get sorted either way ;)

I damaged one of my Azevs like that - I had a tyre blow as I was changing lanes and dented the wheel on a cat's eye. It wasn't quite as bad as yours but 3 places said the wheel was not worth reparing. 2 said they could not do it leaving the polished edge intact (ie they would paint it, therefore it would not match the others) and the other said its safety would be compromised if repaired.

Richard :)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I'm thinking i might need to get a new set of alloys. But i'm not sure what size i need.

My curretn tyre sizes are 215x40xR18 on the front and 235x40xR18 on the back (i think). What size can I fit if i get new alloys? Can i fit the larger alloy sizes?

we use these:

excellent service & if you say Paul from Vikings sent you then you may even get a bit of discount! prob do about 4-500 wheels a year with them!

it does look knackered tho! if they say no then from a safety point of view i would take their word!!

i certainly would not fancy repairing that wheel and feel comfortable driving high speed knowing that was on my car i scrapped a goodyear f1 eagle after it had a screw in the side wall safety is paramount to yourself and others
